Job Summary
FreeWheel is looking for a Product Manager to help shape and improve optimization capabilities across the Buyer Cloud platform.

In this role, you'll work closely with Engineering, Data Science, Revenue and other Product teams to understand customer needs, define product requirements, prioritize investments, and deliver capabilities that help buyers drive stronger performance and business outcomes. You'll own a defined set of optimization workflows, controls, and product capabilities, helping drive roadmap decisions and execution while contributing to broader product strategy.

Success in this role requires strong collaboration skills, customer empathy, sound product judgment, and the ability to balance customer needs, business priorities, data-driven decision making, and technical considerations.

Job Description

What You'll Do

  • Own roadmap definition, prioritization, and execution for specific optimization areas within the Buyer Cloud platform.

  • Define and improve workflows, controls, and product capabilities that help customers optimize campaign performance and achieve measurable business outcomes.

  • Partner closely with Engineering, Data Science, and Revenue to identify customer problems, evaluate opportunities, and define product requirements.

  • Work with Engineering to balance customer value, technical feasibility, and delivery timelines.

  • Collaborate with Product Managers across Buyer Cloud and adjacent platforms to ensure optimization capabilities fit cohesively into broader user workflows.

  • Gather insights from customers, internal stakeholders, analytics, and market inputs to inform product decisions and prioritization.

  • Write clear product requirements and communicate priorities to cross-functional teams.

  • Make thoughtful tradeoff decisions that balance performance impact, usability, business value, and implementation complexity.

  • Define success metrics and measure outcomes to continuously improve optimization features and customer results.

  • Contribute to product planning and strategy discussions while executing broader organizational priorities.

  • Build strong working relationships across Product, Engineering, Design, Data Science, Customer Success, Operations, and other stakeholder groups.

Who You Are

  • 2-4 years of product management experience building and launching software products.

  • Experience in advertising technology, media technology, or a closely related industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to own features, workflows, or product areas from discovery through delivery.

  • Strong customer empathy and curiosity about how customers make decisions and optimize toward business goals.

  • Experience partnering closely with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.

  • Ability to define requirements, prioritize work, and make informed tradeoff decisions.

  • Strong analytical thinking and comfort using data to evaluate opportunities and measure outcomes.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comfortable operating in environments where requirements, priorities, and market needs may evolve.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with optimization products, decisioning systems, controls, or performance-oriented workflows.

  • Familiarity with experimentation, analytics, measurement, or data-informed product development.

  • Exposure to AI or ML-based product management

  • Interest in how AI is changing optimization workflows, decision-making, and customer expectations.

What Makes This Role Different

This role is ideal for a product manager who enjoys solving complex customer problems where usability, control, and measurable outcomes all matter.

You'll have meaningful ownership of important optimization areas within Buyer Cloud and the opportunity to help customers drive stronger performance through better product experiences, smarter controls, and more effective decision-making.

Rather than focusing only on feature delivery, you'll work across Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Revenue to understand customer problems, evaluate opportunities, and deliver capabilities that create clear business value.

As our platform evolves, you'll also have opportunities to help shape how emerging capabilities such as AI/ML-based optimization and intelligent bidding fit into the customer journey.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyzing product management activities, defining product concepts, and justifying product-related expenditures
  • Assisting other product managers in solving semi-complex problems and guiding them through larger project initiatives
  • Managing profit and loss or budgetary aspects for assigned products, ensuring alignment with company goals
  • Evaluating market trends, consumer needs, and technological advancements to inform product strategy
  • Developing detailed product features, requirements, and implementation plans, prioritizing based on market needs
  • Envisioning new product features through participation in cross-functional teams, fostering innovation and collaboration
  • Coordinating with external vendors and strategic partners to ensure timely, on-budget delivery of product initiatives
  • Reviewing and adjusting pricing strategies to maintain market competitiveness and company profitability
  • Conducting periodic margin analyses to identify opportunities for product improvement and cost optimization
  • Ensuring seamless coordination among cross-functional teams to achieve product launch and lifecycle objectives
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
