We're looking for someone who is curious, analytical, customer-focused, and passionate about understanding markets, competitors, and technology trends.

You will have full remit to understand players in the market, develop competitive strategies, and help chart paths including product partnerships and build options for us.

The ideal candidate will thrive in R&D as well as building products and will become an expert on grazing systems, fencing, water systems, and other livestock technology. If the idea of being at the forefront of regenerative agriculture technology with a mission aligned organization is energizing, this could be the role for you!

This role reports directly to the Powerflex CEO (with a dotted line to Soilworks General Partner) and works closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, as well as key supplier partners.

What You'll Do:

  • Track emerging companies in virtual fencing, livestock technology, GPS systems, sensors, and precision agriculture.
  • Maintain ongoing competitive assessments and recommendations.

Customer & Market Research
  • Conduct customer interviews and field visits.
  • Work with dealers, ranchers, and industry influencers.
  • Identify unmet customer needs and market opportunities.

New Product & Category Development
  • Identify opportunities for new products and services.

  • Support product launches and category expansion.
  • Build business cases for new products and investments.

Technology & Innovation
  • Evaluate emerging technologies including:
    • Virtual fencing
    • GPS livestock tracking
    • Water monitoring
    • Grazing management software
    • Precision agriculture solutions
  • Assess market readiness, adoption barriers, and long-term opportunity.

Product Economics & Cost Analysis
  • Understand product cost structures and pricing models.
  • Analyze margins, target costs, and competitive positioning.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and customer value.

Support Sales & Marketing
  • Develop product positioning and messaging.
  • Assist with product training and customer education.
  • Support strategic supplier relationships.

Within the first 12 months:
  • Competitive intelligence process established.
  • Product and category roadmaps developed.
