Location: Chicago,Illinois
Expected Start Date: Sep 21, 2026
Salary: $155,000 - $160,000
Product Manager, Bank-to-Bank Payments - Remote - $155,000-$160,000An established payments technology company is expanding its money movement business following a recent acquisition. The product already has customers, working payment infrastructure, and established industry relationships. Now the company is investing in what comes next, opening the door for a Senior Product Manager to help expand the offering, uncover new use cases, and turn growing market demand into products that deliver real business value. You won't be inheriting a finished product and looking for minor improvements. You'll have the chance to help determine where it goes next.
This is a role for someone who enjoys the business and technical sides of product management equally. You'll get close to customers and partners, investigate transaction data, define product requirements, and work directly with Engineering to move ideas into production. You'll have ownership of your product area, but success will depend on how well you bring people together, challenge assumptions, and make sound decisions without waiting for someone else to map out every step. The environment is relatively casual, and the emphasis is on what you accomplish rather than how corporate you sound in a meeting.
Your payments expertise is what will help you make the most of the opportunity. You'll need hands-on experience with account-to-account or bank-to-bank payment methods such as ACH, RTP, FedNow, push-to-card, or open banking. You'll also need to understand the mechanics behind moving money, from settlement and reconciliation to ledger logic and returns. Combine that knowledge with commercial thinking, strong customer instincts, and practical use of AI tools, and you'll be positioned to help shape a product line with room to grow.
The easiest part of this job: You won't have to prove that the product category has a place in the market. There's an existing platform, established customers, and payment infrastructure already in use. That gives you a foundation to learn from real transaction activity and customer needs while identifying the next opportunities worth pursuing.
The hardest part of this job: You'll need to be comfortable creating direction rather than waiting for it. Customer requests, technical considerations, and commercial priorities won't always point to the same answer. You'll have to sort through the trade-offs, make a case for your decisions, and influence teams across the business without direct authority. If you enjoy taking ownership and making progress when things aren't perfectly defined, that independence is part of the appeal.
