Overview Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or at least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in an engineering discipline.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in product design, test and manufacturing engineering.
  • One (1) year experience with vendor and/or contractor management.
  • Knowledge of and experience with radio frequency and portable power circuits.
  • Knowledge of and experience with analog and digital electronics.
  • Ability to efficiently design flex PCBs, rigid PCBs and rigid-flex PCBs
  • Ability to identify and analyze problems and develop solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience, both technical and non-technical.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Sense of urgency.
  • Basic project management skills.
  • United States citizenship required.
  • Ability to pass a federal background check and obtain a suitability determination.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to information stored in operational databases.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

Responsibilities

Summary

Serves in both a design and sustaining engineering capacity in support of new and existing Company products. Acts as a team lead on product improvement projects, which are usually less than six months in duration. Tests and qualifies new or modified products, and provides engineering support for the manufacturing and purchasing teams with ongoing quality issues

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Takes a lead role on individual projects to resolve quality issues and design and implement product
  • Provides technical assistance to the manufacturing, quality, and purchasing teams in support of released Company products. Manages product returns, performs failure analysis, determines root causes of issues and develops product upgrades and process improvements.
  • Identifies field performance issues with Company products either by internal data gathering or direct customer contact. Develops solutions to eliminate or minimize them.
  • Provides technical assistance to the Sales and Marketing Departments, as requested, by researching new technology and providing technical support to customers.
  • Designs or supports the design and implementation of new products, with a focus on hardware, firmware and telecommunications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
