Full Job Description
Responsible for designing and developing a product/product family. Ensures production procedures efficiently utilize materials and personnel. Tests finished product for quality purposes and recommends changes to product specifications as necessary.

Product Engineer in Axle Engineering Product Engineer to work with coordination and release of the following projects:

1) Integration of the JK front and rear axles into 2016 and beyond programs.

2) Candidate will work with outside purchased axle suppliers and aid in supplier selection.

3) Candidate will work to generate a source package specific to the JK program.

4) Candidate will create and develop axle assembly designs in conjunction with suppliers to adapt axle assemblies into new JK/JL vehicle applications.

In addition the position requires:

Working with Virtual Tools, CAE, and FEA engineers to validate and verify the designs. Working with Driveline Engineering and Chassis Engineering to assure axle assemblies are compatible and properly configured to vehicle tuning requirements. Working with NVH experts to assure the axle designs are properly tuned and meet the noise and vibration limitations required for vehicle needs. Working with axle suppliers to obtain mule and prototype designs. Working with AME and assembly plants to make sure there are no issues in the axle assembly, assembly process. Interaction and communication of Axle Engineering requirements to Program Management, Vehicle Integration, Procurement & Supply, Supplier Quality, and associated engineering organizations. Prepare formal documentation as required by each program to include CNs, IAAs, PERs, source packages, DVP&R and related program management documents. Helping coordinate offsite axle test and development, issuing test procedures, performing data analysis, and resolving issues leading to design refinements. Tracking and reporting prototype axle parts issues in vehicle builds, and implement correct actions. Coordinating the axle assembly parts for the pilot vehicle builds and vehicle launch activities.Manage axle supply base for adherence to corporate vehicle timing requirements.
