About the Role

We are seeking a senior-level product development and manufacturing professional who can take our AI-enabled electronic and electromechanical products from working prototypes and small production runs into reliable, cost-effective manufacturing at scale. This is a high-impact, hands-on role responsible for industrialization, product engineering, and technical leadership.

This role is for a proven builder who has personally scaled multiple physical products from tens of units into the thousands, and who can own the messy middle between prototype and production without requiring step-by-step direction.

The successful candidate will take ownership of scaling our products and bring strong AI and computer vision expertise to everything we build.

What You'll Do

• Scale Production: Lead products from prototype and small runs through pilot builds, validation, and production release at increasing volumes.
• Design for Manufacturing: Apply design for manufacturing and assembly principles from the outset-component selection, tolerances, assembly methods, and testing.
• Solve Scale-Up Challenges: Identify and resolve assembly inconsistencies, component availability, supplier quality issues, and production bottlenecks.
• Drive Down Cost: Reduce unit cost, assembly time, rework, and scrap without compromising performance or field reliability.
• Build with AI: Design and integrate computer vision, artificial intelligence, and machine learning into cameras, sensors, radar, and embedded systems for traffic safety solutions.
• Test and Deploy: Lead prototyping, validation, field testing, and deployment of traffic and vision-based systems.
• Lead Technically: Manage engineering projects end to end and provide technical direction to engineers, technicians, vendors, and manufacturers.

What You Bring

• 10+ years developing and scaling physical products
• Proven personal contribution to scaling multiple products from tens of units into thousands
• Strong experience with AI, machine learning, or computer vision in physical products
• Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Hands-on experience with cameras, sensors, embedded systems, programming (Python, C/C++, MATLAB), and CAD (SolidWorks or CATIA)
• P.Eng. or eligibility for registration with APEGA is preferred
• Experience in traffic systems, intelligent transportation, or vehicle detection is desirable
• People management, Lean, Six Sigma, or ISO experience is an asset
• Willingness to travel as needed for testing, deployment, and supplier collaboration.

Work Conditions:

• This position is a full-time, 40hr/week requirement
• On-site requirement
• Flexibility to work overtime to meet deadlines as required
