Full Job Description
About the Role

This role owns the operational system behind successful product launches at Valence - getting capabilities turned on for clients at scale. You'll build the repeatable process that helps us introduce new features in a coordinated, scalable way across product, engineering, customer success, and our enterprise clients.

In the near term, this means rolling up your sleeves with our first cohort of priority clients - getting on the phone, working through IT and security blockers, and driving direct activation. Over time, it means building the playbook, internal enablement, and adoption infrastructure that lets us scale launches across 80+ enterprise clients without it depending on any one person. You'll be the connective tissue between Product/Engineering (what's shipping) and CS/Commercial (what clients need to hear and do).

This role will report to our VP of Engineering, but will work very collaborating across different teams.

What You'll Do

Drive direct activation with priority clients
  • Partner hands-on with our first cohort of clients to get new features turned on - making the calls, running the meetings, working through IT/security/legal blockers
  • Build trusting relationships with both senior sponsors (CHROs, SVPs) and day-to-day operators (L&D leads, program managers) that translate into faster activation
  • Translate new features into client-relevant value, not just product specs

Build and own the deployment system
  • Design and run a repeatable process for launching new product capabilities across our enterprise base
  • Coordinate customer-facing release trains, phased rollouts, and launch timing across client segments
  • Develop launch playbooks, internal enablement, and customer talk tracks that scale beyond you
  • Stand up a beta cohort to quickly validate features with the right mix of clients

Track and drive adoption at scale
  • Track activation rates, feature adoption, and time-to-value across the client base
  • Identify laggards proactively and run the process to systematically unblock them
  • Use adoption data to drive both client conversations and internal roadmap influence

Synthesize feedback into product influence
  • Aggregate signal from across the client base into a clear, prioritized voice on the roadmap
  • Partner with product and engineering on what's testable, where features need to evolve, and how to close gaps blocking adoption

Coordinate cross-functionally
  • Work across CS, Engagement Managers, product, and engineering without formal authority
  • Manage the release calendar; flag dependencies and conflicts early
  • Create structure around support, regression handling, and incident communication on the customer side

What We're Looking For

Must-haves
  • 5+ years in customer-facing roles in B2B SaaS - implementation, customer success, solutions engineering, or a similar function where you've owned client outcomes end-to-end
  • Track record of personally driving feature adoption or product activation at enterprise clients - meaning you've moved the number, not just managed the process
  • Strong client presence: equally credible with a CHRO and an IT lead, and comfortable picking up the phone to push something forward
  • Demonstrated ability to build systems and playbooks where none existed - comfortable creating structure rather than inheriting it
  • Project management rigor: can run multiple client workstreams simultaneously without dropping threads
  • Data fluency: comfortable tracking activation rates, feature adoption, and time-to-value, and using that data to drive both client and internal conversations
  • Cross-functional influence without authority: you are able to get engineering, CS, and product moving in the same direction proactively and effectively
  • Comfort with ambiguity, change, and a startup operating mode - willing to write the email, set up the meeting, build the tracker, and present the findings all in the same week

Strong differentiators
  • Experience running a structured beta program or pilot at an enterprise SaaS company
  • Background that spans both relationship-driven activation work AND system-building / process design
  • Experience navigating enterprise IT and security review cycles (SSO, GDPR, data agreements, Teams/Calendar integrations)
  • Familiarity with HR tech, talent platforms, or AI-powered enterprise products

Nice to have
  • Background in product marketing or change management
  • Experience at a high-growth startup, particularly through scaling moments

Compensation
  • Competitive salary including base + bonuses
  • Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision) from day one
  • Generous PTO, company-wide R&R shutdowns, and paid parental leave
  • Retirement plan support for US and global employees

Equity
  • Meaningful ownership in a venture-backed company at a growth inflection point
  • Financial upside that comes from scaling fast
  • Top-up grants as we scale and you deliver exceptional performance - your compensation grows alongside your impact

Top-Performing Culture
  • A culture built for top talent: intensity to win, growth without limits, and a team that solves hard problems and celebrates big wins together

Location and Work Environment

This can be a remote or hybrid role. NYC based candidates will be 3 days a week in office in Union Square. Candidates must be comfortable balancing colleagues in global timezones, as needed. Candidates must have valid ID/passport and must not have any restrictions on their travel abilities due to work authorization or permits.
