Position SummaryThe Product Data Management Specialist is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and governance of product data in support of US Valve and affiliated business units. This role serves as the primary steward of product information within ERP and engineering data management systems, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of item masters, bills of material, routings, engineering documentation, and related product records throughout the product lifecycle.
The Product Data Management Specialist works under supervision of the Engineering team, and with other cross-functional teams, to support new product introductions, engineering changes, manufacturing readiness, and ongoing business operations. This position combines technical data/document management, system administration, and engineering support responsibilities in a growing business.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Product Data Management
- Works with engineers to create and maintain item masters, bills of material (BOMs), routings, inspection plans, and related product records within the ERP system (Oracle JD Edwards).
- Ensure product data remains accurate, complete, and aligned across multiple business units.
- Support new product introductions through creation and maintenance of product structures and manufacturing data cards.
- Develop and maintain standards for product data integrity, naming conventions, and record consistency across business systems.
- Investigate and resolve product data discrepancies in partnership with Engineering and Operations.
- Support ongoing product lifecycle activities through accurate maintenance and revisions of product records and archives.
Engineering Systems & Documentation
- Administer engineering documents within CAD, PDM, and PLM file servers.
- Maintain engineering file structures, drawing archives, and electronic records.
- Generate and distribute PDFs, DXFs, and other engineering deliverables for internal and external users.
- Ensure engineering documentation is properly stored, organized, and accessible.
- Support migration, cleanup, and standardization of engineering records and legacy documentation.
- Distribute existing engineering documentation to internal teams including Purchasing, Operations, and Sales
Change Management
- Serve as an administrator for engineering Document Change Requests and Engineering Change Orders, ensuring requests are routed, reviewed, and completed promptly by all impacted stakeholders.
- Support implementation of engineering changes through updates to product data and documentation systems
- Track change request status, follow up on open actions, and help maintain visibility for any pending or delayed changes.
- Support documentation accuracy by making sure released records reflect the latest approved product configuration.
- Help improve change management workflows, templates, and recordkeeping practices to strengthen both data integrity and execution discipline.
Other Duties
- Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations using information from ERP and engineering document systems
- Support engineers with data collection and reporting
- Participate in projects related to ERP, PLM, PDM, and related systems enhancements.
- Performs Engineering Technician duties when necessary
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Education & Experience: - Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Experience maintaining structured product data, documentation, or records.
- Experience with ERP, PDM, PLM, CAD, or other engineering data management systems preferred.

Total RewardsThe compensation range for this position is $67,400.00 - $101,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
