Full Job Description
Procurement Manager
  • Own SmartBear's centralized procurement function as an individual contributor, partnering across the business to create a streamlined, compliant purchasing experience.
  • Maximize the value of vendor relationships through strategic sourcing, negotiation, contract management, spend analysis, and usage optimization.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Information Security, and business stakeholders to manage third-party spend, strengthen controls, and mitigate supplier risk.

About the Role
  • Oversee and support the procurement process, ensuring a streamlined and compliant approach to buying and using goods and services; educate end users and requisitioners on policy, process, and tools, and ensure appropriate input from Compliance, Legal, and Information Security.
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders to understand evolving requirements and ensure procurement strategies and supplier options effectively support business needs.
  • Build and maintain strategic vendor relationships from onboarding through renewal, with a focus on competitive pricing, quality, timely delivery, and responsive service.
  • Support functional leaders and, when appropriate, lead negotiations to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, service levels, renewal provisions, and other contractual terms; perform contract reviews and cost analyses to maximize value.
  • Collaborate with IT and Finance on usage optimization, budgeting, forecasting, spend reporting, accruals, and financial planning related to third-party spend.
  • Use spend analysis and market research to identify new vendors, geographies, and procurement channels while strengthening compliance, mitigating third-party risk, and continuously improving procurement processes and technology.

We are looking for you if you have:
  • A Bachelor's or Associate's degree; professional procurement training or certification such as CPM or CPSM is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible procurement experience with a track record of accomplishments, preferably including significant technology and SaaS procurement experience.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills, including experience negotiating pricing, payment terms, SLAs, renewal provisions, and other contractual terms.
  • Experience developing and improving procurement processes, policies, controls, and supporting technology in a growing organization.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively across functional areas and with external suppliers.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills, with demonstrated success in a collaborative, fast-growing environment and a high degree of motivation, responsibility, and flexibility.
