We are looking for a Procurement Manager - Suppliers in Appleton, WI or Eden Prairie, MN.

The Procurement Manager - Industrial Good and Services will be responsible for matrix management of capital expenditures for industrial equipment, in conjunction with Engineering personnel for the US. This position will play a key role in improving Agropur's profitability and competitive advantage.

Where you will drive value:
  • In partnership with Engineering and Legal, define standard work methods and ensure the best possible arrangements in order to generate maximum value for Agropur's capital expenditures. This first step will lay the groundwork for your subsequent strategic sourcing category management duties.
  • Manage major purchases for the category in support of Agropur's operations (approximately $200 million per year) by establishing the most appropriate sourcing strategies to meet the organization's needs.
  • Determine the best sourcing approach based on project type, using the total cost of ownership (TCO) method.
  • Maximize purchase quantities by consolidating purchases across our production sites in the US and Canada.
  • Participate in key projects to redefine our requirements (in collaboration with the Engineering, Supply Chain and Operations teams).
  • Lead and manage RFPs, select suppliers, negotiate and draft contracts.
  • Increase contractual coverage for the category and implement risk management strategies in collaboration with the various departments involved.
  • Manage and develop relationships with key suppliers, applying best practices to ensure efficient and fair treatment of information.
  • Assess the appropriateness of developing and negotiating master agreements with major suppliers in the category to accelerate the execution of downstream projects, while ensuring Agropur's competitiveness and reducing risk.
  • Participate in planning and achieving savings of at least 5% per year in the category.
  • Establish key performance indicators for one or more categories, as well as monitoring mechanisms.
  • Ensure that risk management and compliance standards are rigorously applied in supplier contracts.
  • Represent the Strategic Sourcing team at Engineering's Capital Equipment budget & project meetings.
  • Reduce company risk via negotiating contracts and implementing policies and protocol.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Business Administration, Law, Engineering, etc.) required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in strategic sourcing category management with a major organization, including managing complex RFPs.
  • Available to travel to various sites in the US and Canada required.
