Full Job Description
About the Role

Version2.ai is growing fast. We crossed 200 clients and closed our strongest sales quarter on record -
and the paperwork hasn't kept up. Every deal we close requires a contract, and every client we keep
requires a renewal. Right now that work sits with our VP of Sales, and that's not sustainable.
We're hiring a Procurement Manager to personally own the entire post-verbal-commit process for every
new logo, upsell, and renewal: redlining, negotiating, chasing down whatever internal information is
needed, and getting the contract signed and filed. You'll report directly to our VP of Sales and sit in the
middle of Sales, Customer Success, and whichever department holds the answer you need on a given
day.

This is a hands-on execution role, full stop. We are not looking for someone to design a process, select
new software, or build a function. We're looking for someone who can run a high volume of contract
threads at once, know our paper cold, hold their own with a procurement counterpart at a university or
hospital system, and get deals over the line - fast, and without dropping anything.

What You'll Own

Contracts & Deal Execution
• Personally redline and negotiate every new contract from verbal commit to signed MSA -
working from our standard terms, knowing when to hold firm and when to concede
• Own all supporting deal paperwork: Service Orders, DPAs, BAAs (healthcare clients), and any
addenda
• Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for prospect legal and procurement counterparts -
handle the back-and-forth directly, not through an intermediary
• Track down whatever information a deal needs from wherever it lives in the company - Sales,
CS, Finance, leadership - and get it fast enough that the deal doesn't stall
• Keep deal records clean and current in HubSpot
• Flag real contract risk or non-standard terms to the VP of Sales before committing - otherwise,
keep moving without waiting for sign-off on routine items

Renewals
• Own the full renewal paperwork cycle across 200+ clients and growing - new logos, upsells, and
renewals all run through you
• Coordinate directly with Customer Success on timing, pricing, and term changes
• Track the renewal calendar yourself and make sure nothing slips past its deadline
• Ensure every fully executed agreement is filed and reflected accurately in HubSpot
Pace & Availability
• Deal volume is uneven - some weeks are quiet, some weeks have a dozen contracts moving at
once. You flex with it, including working long hours when a close or renewal deadline requires it
• You are judged on throughput and accuracy, not on process design
What we're looking for

Required
• 3+ years personally negotiating and redlining contracts as an individual contributor -
procurement, paralegal, contracts administration, or higher-ed/nonprofit contracting background is
a strong fit; SaaS deal-desk experience is fine but not required
• Direct, hands-on experience going back-and-forth with an external counterpart (procurement,
legal, or purchasing) on real contracts - not just routing paperwork for internal approval
• Comfortable holding your ground in a negotiation while keeping the relationship intact
• Highly organized: you can run 10-20 active contract threads at once without letting anything slip,
with no system-building required to do it
• Fast and resourceful - you know how to find an answer inside a company by asking the right
person, not by building a process to surface it
• HubSpot proficiency (or equivalent CRM - we use HubSpot and you'll live in it)
• Strong written communication - you'll be emailing procurement directors at universities and
hospital systems directly
Nice to Have
• Experience with higher education, nonprofit, or healthcare procurement - their processes are
different and familiarity helps
• Exposure to HIPAA contracting (BAAs) and nonprofit/grant-funded purchasing cycles
• Experience in a fast-moving, high-growth company where you had to move quickly with limited
support

What This Is Not
This is not a systems or process role. You won't be evaluating tools, designing a deal-desk function, or
building playbooks and frameworks - those don't exist here on purpose, and building them is not the job.
You also won't be doing pipeline reporting, forecasting, or comp modeling. This is not a strategy role. You won't be presenting to the board or owning company OKRs. This is a doer's job: an AE gets a verbal yes, hands you the deal, and you take it from there - redlines, procurement calls, chasing internal information, signature - every single day, at volume, fast.
