The Opportunity

The Process Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading, supervising, and developing process plant crews at Jerritt Canyon. This role provides direct, hands-on leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations while supporting production targets and operational performance.

Working closely with Metallurgy, Maintenance, and site leadership, this position drives crew performance, enforces operational standards, and ensures effective execution of daily activities to support overall plant efficiency and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise and lead process operations crews, ensuring safe work practices and adherence to operational standards.
  • Set clear expectations, monitor performance, and hold team members accountable to safety, production, and behavioral standards.
  • Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to operators to maximize plant performance and operational efficiency.
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members, including onboarding, skills development, and cross-training initiatives.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and reinforce high-quality workplace examinations and hazard recognition.
  • Enforce housekeeping standards and maintain a safe, organized work environment across all areas of responsibility.
  • Participate in hiring, performance management, and employee development to build and retain a high-performing team.
  • Coordinate and supervise the execution of maintenance activities within the process plant, including proper equipment shutdown and preparation.
  • Collaborate closely with metallurgical and maintenance teams to optimize plant performance and resolve operational issues.
  • Monitor plant performance, identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Communicate regularly with peer supervisors and leadership to ensure alignment on priorities, performance, and operational needs.
  • Support the development and refinement of operating procedures and strategies to improve efficiency and equipment utilization.
  • Maintain accurate records, including employee training status, performance feedback, and operational reporting.
  • Utilize maintenance and operational systems (e.g., SAP) to support work management and reporting requirements.
  • Foster a positive team environment that promotes accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Education and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in process operations within mining or a similar industrial environment.
  • Minimum 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in an operations setting.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold employees accountable.
  • Experience working with maintenance management and operational systems
  • Strong understanding of mineral processing operations, equipment, and plant processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify operational issues, analyze performance data, and implement corrective actions.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced operational environment.
