Job Description

Our dynamic team in Albany, NY has an immediate need for a mid-Level Process / Chemical Engineer with 5 + years of engineering, consulting, design experience or relevant experience working in an advanced manufacturing facility. The team in Albany, NY consults on a variety of industries and market sectors, with a focus in pharmaceutical and semiconductor manufacture. Prior design and management experience involving advanced manufacturing, battery, semiconductor, and solar facilities preferred.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Use knowledge of general concepts of process engineering elements through investigation and analysis, to support buildings engineering projects with a primary focus in complex industrial manufacturing projects
  • Perform detailed calculations to analyze, model and design process system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • Lead team in preparing process designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports, and gather information to support design decisions.
  • Lead interpretation and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
  • Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer.
  • Assist the team in providing support services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications.
  • Mentor junior level staff on principles of design and project execution.
  • Contribute or lead the preparation of project proposals and status reports.
  • Perform field work related to construction related activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.

Location

This position's location is primarily focused in Albany, NY, with the ability to support, for the right candidate, independent work locations centered around one of four offices in the business center to support clients in the Northeast region: Burlington, MA; Binghamton, NY; Rochester, NY; and Philadelphia, PA. Partial work from home is negotiable per agreement with hiring manager. Intermittent travel for client site visits may be required on a per project basis. Extended travel assignments are not required, though opportunities exist for interested candidates

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Experience designing in accordance with biotechnology / pharmaceutical / semiconductor industry strongly preferred.

Education and Experience
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution with an emphasis in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 + years of engineering, consulting, design experience or relevant experience working in a manufacturing or facilities in the biopharma, food and beverage, industrial manufacturing industry

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Office - Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting. Noise level varies but generally at levels of conversation. Majority of time spent using computer/laptop at workstation and related office equipment. Time spent carrying, reaching, lifting, bending, pushing and pulling Up to 9 kilograms / 20 pounds Occasional - 1-33% of shift. Subject to extended periods of sitting; may be required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk short to moderate distances to perform work. Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment if required*.

Field - Activities are performed in a variety of indoor and outdoor work environments that may change regularly based on project requirements. Work in an environment where the noise and temperature levels may vary. Time spent carrying, reaching, lifting, bending, pushing and pulling Up to 23 kilograms / 50 pounds Occasional - 1-33% of shift. Subject to some periods of sitting; will be required to stand for moderate lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Requirement to wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required*.
