Full Job Description
Process Optimization: Identify production bottlenecks, analyze process inefficiencies, and implement cost-reduction initiatives to minimize scrap and slag.
Technical Troubleshooting: Provide day-to-day operational support and root cause analysis (RCA) for complex steelmaking units including Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), LMF, VTD, and Caster.
Data Analytics: Leverage statistical process control (SPC) techniques and production data to monitor system performance, build reporting dashboards, and deploy digital twin models.
Quality & Compliance: Partner with Quality Control to manage metallurgical specifications, resolve internal quality deviations, and investigate customer complaints.
Project Management: Lead and participate in capital improvement projects from design through completion, including equipment upgrades and equipment commissioning.
Standardization: Develop, refine, and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and conduct training sessions for plant personnel.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Success
Production & Efficiency: Increase tons per hour, improve yield, and reduce energy consumption per ton produced.
Quality & Reliability: Lower scrap/rework rates, improve First Pass Yield (FPY), and improve Process Capability Index (Cpk).
Safety & Environment: Maintain zero safety incidents and minimize hazardous waste/environmental excursions.
