Seeking a Process Engineer to design, document, implement, and continuously optimize operational workflows and procedures to support an Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) program. Leveraging ITIL frameworks and Business Process Management (BPM) principles, this role works closely with stakeholders to develop, update, or recommend cybersecurity processes that are efficient, repeatable, and measurable. The ideal candidate combines a strong background in IT service management with an analytical mindset, enabling them to deliver actionable recommendations that drive continuous improvement. This is an onsite hybrid role in Portland, OR (minimum 2-3 days per week in office).
Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Discovery, Design & Engineering- Discover and document existing "as-is" operational processes and workflows across the ISCM program through stakeholder interviews, system reviews, and interactive workshops.
- Identify process weaknesses, bottlenecks, operational inefficiencies, or compliance risks.
- Formulate, document, and present clear, actionable recommendations and remediation strategies to address identified process gaps and potentials for savings in resources and time.
- Design, model, and implement standardized future-state processes across the ISCM program, including security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and risk reporting.
- Apply Business Process Management (BPM) methodologies to translate complex cybersecurity and operational requirements into clear, logical process maps and workflows.
ITIL & Service Management Integration- Ensure security operational processes align seamlessly with broader enterprise IT service management (ITSM) frameworks.
- Define and establish Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Operational Level Agreements (OLAs), and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure process effectiveness.
- Facilitate the alignment of security workflows with core ITIL disciplines such as Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Enablement, and Knowledge Management.
Continuous Improvement & Analytics- Drive a culture of Continual Service Improvement (CSI) by regularly analyzing process performance metrics and operational data.
- Identify automation opportunities and workflow inefficiencies, recommending targeted tool integrations or workflow adjustments.
- Facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) for operational failures or process breakdowns to prevent recurrence.
Documentation & Governance- Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including process governance models, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and RACI matrices.
- Ensure all documented processes comply with federal regulations, agency policies, and audit requirements.
- Partner with technical writers and training specialists to ensure teams are educated on new, updated, or remediated operational processes.
Collaboration- Work cross-functionally with analysts, security engineers, assessment teams, and program leadership to gather process requirements and feedback.
- Support tool integration efforts (e.g., SOAR, ITSM tools like ServiceNow) by defining the underlying logical workflows that govern automation.
