Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector has a need for a Principal Systems Test Engineer at its Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) organization in Warner Robins, GA. In this role you will be supporting our sustainment and modernization programs as a part of the engineering team. Our ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, a drive to lead from where you are, collaborative people skills, and the proven ability to work within a technically diverse and fast-paced team. This position is in Warner Robins, GA and requires that you work on-site daily.

Roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Perform technical analysis, reviews and recommendations of hardware and electrical system for manufacturability.

  • Design, build and validate test fixtures, wire harnesses, mechanical interfaces, and cable assemblies.

  • Develop and implement automated test procedures, including fault detection, self-diagnostics, and yield analysis.

  • Document test station architecture, wiring diagrams, software flowcharts, and standard operating procedures.

  • Develop test requirements documents and ensure testing plans/procedures meets the requirements.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 9 years of directly relevant experience in lieu of a degree; 7 years with an associate’s degree in a STEM field; or 5 years with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology

  • Experience designing and integrating test equipment, including CCAs, cables, electrical harnesses and test station software

  • Experience with common test instrumentation (power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, function generators, etc.)

  • Experience with evaluating test requirements for avionics systems and developing Acceptance Test Procedures

  • Experience owning a design/integration effort with minimal guidance or supervision.

  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with legacy system sustainment and modernization, including hardware redesign due to obsolescence

  • Experience leading the technical execution of a team

  • Experience with electronics assembly/repair to include soldering, IC replacement and wire termination for circuit cards and cable assemblies

  • Prior DoD Industry Experience

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
