Space Ground System Solutions has an immediate full-time opening for a Principal Software Engineer. The position will be responsible for development of common ground software for satellite command, control and telemetry monitoring.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Experience with C2 systems.
- Leadership experience
- Develop software using C/C++/golang in a RHEL Linux environment
- Design and implement software for large-scale command and control systems
- Troubleshoot and report software anomalies
- Work in a team environment, leading a small team of developers
- Apply agile development practices and techniques to adapt rapidly to changing requirements and schedules
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS- Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (i.e., Computer Science, Software Engineer, Information Technology)
- Ten (10) or more years of software engineering/development experience using in a Linux environment
- Proficiency developing and testing software in a Linux environment
- Knowledge of industry practices, techniques and standards
- Proficiency with programming languages C, C++, Python.
- Proficiency with UI's
- Solid understanding of networking technology, TCP/IP and common internet application protocols
- Proficiency developing and testing software in a Linux environment

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS- Experience with Satellite Ground Systems, Ground System Operations, or Satellite Operations
- Experience using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Experience documenting test results for corrective actions
- Experience using software configuration management tools (examples: git, BitBucket, Jira, etc.)
- Experience interacting with databases (examples: MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
- Experience writing scripts (examples: shell scripting, python, PERL, etc.)
- Familiarity with virtualization and cloud technologies (examples: AWS, OpenStack, VMware, RHEV, etc.)
- Familiarity with web technologies (examples: HTML, CSS, React, REST, JSON, WildFly, etc.)
- Familiarity with messaging servers (examples: ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, WebSphereMQ, ZeroMQ, GMSEC, etc.)
