Job Summary:

The master scheduling process is designed to ensure that adequate resources are available or planned prior to driving the gross requirements through MRP. Thus, representing what Mercury plans to produce, expressed in specific configurations, quantities and dates. This role will require aggregating the forecast, the production plan and other important considerations such as backlog, availability of material, availability of capacity and management policies and goals. The MPS must possess detailed knowledge of all the materials and processes that contribute to the marketing, design, sales, manufacture and distribution of the products that they will be scheduling. The MPS must also be capable of developing a working line of communication with people from all areas and all levels of the organization that influence or are affected by the master schedule.

Job Responsibilities:
• Develops a working knowledge of the company's products and process to ensure optimal master schedule stability and load leveling.
• Creates a master schedule that satisfies customer demand with optimum inventory levels and resource utilization. Ensures that the master schedule can be used for detailed material and capacity planning.
• Responsible to hand over an executable master schedule plan to production planners for execution.
• Analyzes the demand and supply balance at the product family and master schedule levels, determining out-of-balance conditions, identifying alternatives and recommending corrective action.
• Anticipate supply problems and implement resolution in collaboration with business functions such as Procurement, Product Management, Operations Program Management, Engineering, Finance and Operations.
• Chairs periodic master scheduling meeting for the purpose of identifying, negotiating and resolving conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order promising.
• Seeks ways to reduce internal lead times as well as lead times to customers through performance improvement projects.
• Works with planning team and operations team to identify critical "bottleneck" operations or resources and determine the capacities for each resource.
• Acts as single point of contact with the demand control team to determine future work plan based upon demand forecast, order trends and abnormal demands.
• Develops and maintains the rules of engagement for demand control, including master scheduling policy. Assists in developing and implementing improvements to production scheduling functions.
• Assess risks and gaps within the schedule and communicate appropriately the risks within the organization.
• Co-ordinate the aggregation of planned production via planning bills and link it to the overall supply plan and SIOP process, highlighting differences in volume and costs versus the agreed SIOP plans.
• Creates and maintains the critical resource file and load profiles for each resource in the rough-cut capacity planning system of ERP.
• Summarizes daily and weekly master schedules for released and firm planned orders and compares these to the production plan to ensure consistency.
• Respond in a timely manner to action messages generated by the master scheduling software.
• Assuring that no master scheduled item will have a release or firm planned order date that is not executable
• Responsible for the inventory levels for each product line under their control.
• Creation of a financial summary of over planned and or safety sock inventories to ensure that they are within budget.
• Authorizes all planning strategies and options over planned items and determines the quantity for each.
• Maintains scheduling parameters such as, manufacturing calendar, lot sizes, safety stocks, delivery times, and order file data for all master scheduled items.
• Lead the S&IOP process

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent and 7+ years' experience in Production Planning and Inventory Control within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in ERP/MRP systems
  • Experience maintaining MRP data integrity, including planning parameters, lead times, and inventory controls
  • Team Player: Collaborates with key stakeholders, gains commitment to meet timelines and influences others without direct authority.
  • Driver and Goal Oriented: With limited guidance, identifies tasks needed to support desired outcomes, and challenges potential delays to drive necessary actions for results.
  • Organized: Demonstrated ability to stay organized with multiple responsibilities and deadlines. Good decision making and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented. Time management and workload prioritization capabilities are key.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in production and capacity planning
  • Experience in Power BI
  • Experience in working Lean six sigma
  • Experience in working Defense industry preferred
  • Proficient in Oracle or ERP planning tools and systems.
  • Proficient in Advanced Planning simulation tools such as Kinaxis or Rapid Response
  • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data extraction).
  • ASCM (APICS) certification.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written, verbal, and presentation) with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to gather, analyze and summarize data to develop appropriate actions and apply planning strategies
