Your Opportunity

As the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Routing and Siting Program Manager, you will provide strategic leadership for one of the fastest-growing areas within our Power Sector business. This role focuses on advancing technical excellence, innovation, business growth, and talent development across complex transmission infrastructure projects throughout North America.

You will serve as a senior advisor on routing and siting strategy, support key utility clients and transmission developers, and help shape the future of our geospatial and digital solutions capabilities. Working across regions, disciplines, and project teams, you will influence major pursuits, strengthen client relationships, and drive innovative approaches that differentiate Stantec in the marketplace.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and advance a national transmission routing and siting program supporting utility and energy clients across the US.
  • Provide strategic direction for routing and siting methodologies, technical standards, and project delivery approaches.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource on complex transmission routing studies, alternatives analyses, and permitting and licensing strategies.
  • Collaborate with regional and sector leaders to support long-term program growth and operational excellence.
  • Support strategic pursuits and major proposals for transmission developers, investor-owned utilities, and key clients.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with utility clients and industry stakeholders.
  • Help identify emerging market opportunities, position Stantec for key wins, and contribute to revenue growth.
  • Provide technical leadership during pursuit development and project positioning efforts.
  • Guide multidisciplinary teams delivering transmission routing, siting, environmental planning, licensing and permitting, and regulatory support services.
  • Advise on complex transmission infrastructure projects, including high-voltage transmission systems and large-scale energy developments.
  • Support quality reviews, technical oversight, and strategic project decision-making.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to emerging technical leaders across the organization.
  • Champion innovative approaches to transmission routing and siting through GIS, digital tools, automation, and decision-support technologies.
  • Partner with geospatial and digital teams to develop repeatable workflows, modeling approaches, visualization tools, and data-driven solutions.
  • Advance capabilities in route optimization, suitability analysis, scenario modeling, and digital project delivery.
  • Help create differentiated solutions that improve client outcomes and project efficiency.
  • Mentor technical professionals and support succession planning initiatives.
  • Participate in workforce planning, recruiting, and capability development efforts.
  • Foster collaboration across regions and disciplines to strengthen technical communities of practice.

Capabilities and Credentials
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex utility, transmission, or energy infrastructure projects.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geography, planning, engineering, GIS, or a related discipline.

15+ years of progressively responsible experience in transmission siting, routing, permitting, utility consulting, or related infrastructure sectors.
