Job Overview

This role leads end-to-end portfolio management for a broad product portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives, delivery transparency, and value realization. The Principal Portfolio Manager drives cross-functional governance processes, partners with senior leaders to escalate risks and inform prioritization decisions, and produces data-driven reporting and portfolio visualizations that support strategic planning. Success is defined by portfolio health, stakeholder alignment, and measurable delivery outcomes across business and technical teams.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Own end-to-end product portfolio management, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivery of measurable value
  • Translate complex delivery, financial, and risks into clear, compelling presentations tailored for executive audiences; this candidate must be able to hold a room with the senior leadership team independently
  • Lead portfolio governance processes including intake, prioritization, resource allocation, funding decisions, and business case evaluation
  • Partner with program and project managers to track delivery status, surface resource and schedule risks, and drive escalation paths
  • Facilitate regular portfolio reviews with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to support decision-making and communicate delivery health
  • Build and maintain portfolio reporting, dashboards, and visualizations (using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Planview, or Smartsheet) to communicate key insights and portfolio performance
  • Drive alignment across business and technical teams in a matrixed environment by maintaining clear communication cadences and documentation standards

Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of related work experience, OR a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required
  • Acceptable areas of study: Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or related field (Preferred)
  • 7-10 years of experience managing portfolios, assessing performance, and delivering against financial and resource constraints (Required)
  • 7-10 years of experience managing cross-functional programs and projects with senior stakeholder engagement in a matrixed environment (Required)
  • 7-10 years of experience in the full project/program lifecycle, including intake, planning, execution, and reporting (Preferred)
  • Experience leading or mentoring project teams across multiple business and technical disciplines (Preferred)


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Portfolio Management - including intake governance, prioritization frameworks, and performance tracking (Required)
  • Project/Program Management - cross-functional, multi-stakeholder, senior executive visibility (Required)
  • Budget Management - OPEX/CAPEX tracking, resource forecasting, financial constraint management (Required)
  • Strategic Planning - OKRs, roadmap alignment, portfolio-level prioritization (Required)
  • Executive Communication - ability to synthesize portfolio status and risks for VP and above (Required)
  • Data Analysis and Reporting - portfolio dashboards, visualizations, and KPI tracking (Required)
  • Collaboration / Stakeholder Management - matrixed environment, cross-functional teams (Required)
  • Agile and/or Waterfall Delivery Methodologies (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with PPM tools such as Planview, Smartsheet, Jira, or ServiceNow (Preferred)
  • Design Thinking (Preferred)


Licenses and Certifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) (Preferred)
  • SAFe Agilist, PgMP, or equivalent portfolio/program certification (Preferred)

Total Target Cash Earnings Opportunity: $156,480 - $282,240

National Base Pay Range: $130,400 - $235,200

The Total Target Cash Earnings Opportunity represents the expected total cash compensation for this role at target performance, combining base salary and annual incentive opportunity. Actual earnings may be higher or lower depending on individual performance and overall company results.
