Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Sector is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Project Managerto support multiple Operating Units (OUs) across the Navigation and Cockpit Systems (NACS) Business Unit(BU) in the Navigation Intelligence and Connectivity (NIC) Division. This role provides comprehensive project and business operations support to the Woodland Hills site and NACS Business Unit leadership, with a strong focus on project coordination, and execution of NCTA and Capital projects. The selected candidate will manage multiple projects simultaneously, develop and maintain schedules and metrics, track performance to budget, and create executive-level communications and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. This is a full-time on-site position in Woodland Hills, CA.

What You'll Get To Do:

Project & Operational Support (NCTA / Capital / Internal Projects)
  • Manage project management tasks to oversee, report progress, and drive closure on concurrent projects across NCTA, Capital, and internal initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, and progression metrics in collaboration with project owners.
  • Assist project owners in developing project criteria that align with scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
  • Coordinate across functions (engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, quality, etc.) to break constraints and remove roadblocks impacting project execution.
  • Proactively identify and vocalize help needed to resolve issues that could delay project progression; reach out to appropriate stakeholders to coordinate and close actions.
  • Assist in development of project budgets and schedules for successful project execution.
  • Track execution and projected performance to budget and schedule; support accurate forecasting of Estimate at Completion (EAC) and variance explanations.
  • Review project status and budgets, manage schedules, and prepare regular status reports and dashboards for leadership.
  • Identify project risks and issues and develop resolutions and return-to-green plans to meet Business Unit and Division goals and objectives.
  • Host recurring status/progress reviews for assigned projects; capture updates, risks, help needed, and action items; ensure closure of actions and accurate reflection of project health.

Leadership & Site / Business Unit Support
  • Develop executive-level presentations and communications in support of Woodland Hills site and NACS Business Unit objectives.
  • Serve as a liaison between Operating Unit Leadership, the Business Unit Vice President, and Division Leadership to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Support planning and execution of Business Unit Reviews, executive site visits, and multiple annual site events.
  • Coordinate with functional and program teams to ensure messaging is accurate, aligned, and timely.


This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Project Manager level or a Sr. Principal Project Manager level.

Basic Qualifications - Principal Project Manager Level 3
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant professional experience, or master's degree with 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • 2+ years of project or program management experience with responsibility for project schedules, milestones, deliverables, cost, and/or risk.
  • 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and/or Microsoft Project, to develop project plans, schedules, reports, analyses, or presentations.
  • 1+ year of experience supporting or coordinating cross-functional projects involving two or more functional organizations, such as Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Contracts, or Program Management.
  • Must possess, or have the ability to obtain and maintain, an active DoD Secret clearance.


Basic Qualifications - Sr. Principal Project Manager Level 4
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant professional experience, or Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • 4+ years of project or program management experience with responsibility for project schedules, milestones, deliverables, cost, and/or risk.
  • 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and/or Microsoft Project, to develop project plans, schedules, reports, analyses, or presentations.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or coordinating cross-functional projects involving two or more functional organizations.
  • Must possess, or have the ability to obtain and maintain, an active DoD Secret clearance.


Preferred Qualifications (both levels)
  • A current/active U.S. government Secret security clearance
  • 2+ years of experience managing multiple concurrent projects, including responsibility for schedules, budgets, risks, milestones, and/or deliverables.
  • Experience supporting NCTA, Capital, and/or internal investment projects, including development of schedules, budgets, risk registers, and/or closure/acceptance criteria.
  • Experience developing and presenting project status reports, financial analyses, schedules, dashboards, and/or executive-level briefings to leadership.
  • Experience using project management or collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, SharePoint, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Experience performing variance analysis, forecasting, Estimate at Completion (EAC), and/or financial performance tracking.
  • Experience coordinating activities across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Contracts, and/or other functional organizations.

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $176,300.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
