What you'll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
  • Work closely with senior leadership and the HR, Production and Commercial Teams to identify company and team needs, define strategy, develop action plans, identify deliverables, present results, measure outcomes and provide recommendations.
  • Leverage data and insights to assess and drive action in developing and implementing both reactive and proactive labor relations strategies and plans in close collaboration with organizational leadership.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the HR Team and senior management on all aspects of labor relations matters.
  • Provide labor relations expertise on operational projects and programs and consult on internal and external processes regarding labor relations.
  • Conduct company and team-wide training sessions to educate employees and management on labor relations matters, including compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Develop, maintain and advise management on labor relations policies and practices.
  • Work closely with the Legal, HR and Compliance Teams on both proactive and reactive measures with respect to compliance issues.
  • Identify risks through market assessments and provide recommendations on labor relations strategy, policies and procedures to senior management and relevant team leaders.
  • Work closely with Community Affairs and the HR Team to monitor labor relations activities and trends in the industry and make recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure that all critical labor relations matters are reported efficiently and effectively, while ensuring that work is delivered on time with the highest quality.
  • Partner with the Chief Labor and Employment Counsel to mitigate risks and manage employment-related litigation strategies.

Location & Travel Expectations:
  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors Columbia/Blythewood, SC location
  • The responsibilities of this role require attendance in office with in-person meetings and events Columbia and/or Blythewood office.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • At least 7 years of experience in Labor Relations, Human Resources, or equivalent.
  • Possesses knowledge of collective bargaining, grievance processes, contract administration, contract negotiation, and labor and management relationships.
  • Possess knowledge of current major employment and labor laws such as ADA, FMLA, NLRA, Taft Hartley, etc.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; a master's degree in Industrial Relations, preferred.
  • Ability to effectively navigate ambiguity and issues that do not always have a process or system in place.
  • Successful record of creating, improving and executing programs at scale.
  • Ability to set priorities and effectively, efficiently, and calmly manage multiple time-sensitive projects.
  • Practical and business-minded with an ability to present advice pragmatically.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally across multiple responsibilities and functions simultaneously in a fast-paced, ever-changing and challenging environment.
  • Experience in public speaking across a large population.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $150,000.00 - $181,250.00
