Job Description:

Microchip Technology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer to join our Quality Team as a key contributor to product quality, process integrity and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as the main quality liaison with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Resolve quality issues, lead corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Inspect and verify conformance of raw materials, in-process items, and finished goods.
  • Report on quality metrics, non-conformances, and recommend improvements.
  • Visit suppliers and customers to assess quality performance and gather feedback.
  • Support new supplier onboarding and AS9102 First Article Inspections.
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with ISO9001 and company standards.
  • Deliver training to staff and promote a quality-focused culture.
  • Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and sales.
  • Maintain technical competence and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform additional quality engineering tasks as needed.


Requirements/Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship Required - ITAR Site.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 10 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Must have strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Must be familiar with ISO9001 requirements.

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $75,000 - $232,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
