DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Engineer Electrical to join the team of qualified individuals on our Test and Evaluation organization. This role is located onsite in Oklahoma City andTinker AFB, OK.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible as a test engineer for level III system verification efforts. This candidate will utilize their understanding of system test to create test procedures based on Level III requirements, develop an expert understanding of your assigned subsystem, and utilize test infrastructure to dry run and execute system level verification.
The T&E Team is responsible for completing verification of system level hardware and software capabilities developed and integrated for a classified program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as a Laboratory System Test Engineer
- Synthesize customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints.
- Develop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for completing systems.
This position may require occasional shift work and overtime. Additionally, the nature of this position requires individuals to be comfortable working full time in a classified development environment; cell phones or personal electronic devices are prohibited within these areas.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 5 year of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 1 years of related professional/military experience
- Must have an active US Government Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
- Must have experience in providing technical support to test programs
- Must have the ability and willingness to support multiple shifts and odd hours to accommodate testing efforts and lab schedules
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current and active Top Secret Clearance
- Current and active Program Access
- Technical Support experience for Test Programs (including aircraft OFP updates and laboratory instrumentation sets) from planning phase to post-test review and closeout phase
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553 communication protocol
- Experience with HF/UHF/VHF Communications
- Experience with weapons system test
- 2 or more years of experience in test and evaluation
- Experience with START and Jira
- Knowledgeable in Air Force life cycle sustainment processes
- Knowledgeable in IFC development processes
- Knowledgeable in Agile SW development methodology
Primary Level Salary Range: $93,300.00 - $139,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
