This job is responsible for defining and leading the engineering approach for solutions at the program or portfolio level, to deliver significant business outcomes. Key responsibilities include continuously improving the design, quality, and reuse of the solution and delivering technology enablers that improve development efficiencies for the solution. Job expectations include familiarity with at least one area of engineering, acting as a "go to" reference across the organization, and applying knowledge to improve technical competencies through recruitment and development activities.

Profile Summary

The Principal Engineer will provide technical leadership for the DNA ARC Cloud platform, a mission critical regulatory reporting system that supports high volume workloads, including the Consolidated Audit Trail
(CAT) program. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead one of the Bank's most visible cloud transformation initiatives, helping shape the migration of a strategic regulatory platform to AWS and establishing cloud engineering best practices for future enterprise adoption.
The successful candidate will drive cloud modernization efforts, influence architecture and engineering decisions, and collaborate with senior business and technology stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient, and compliant cloud solutions. This position is ideal for a technology leader who is passionate about cloud transformation, modern engineering practices, and solving complex
challenges within a highly regulated financial environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops the engineering approach for the entire program/portfolio solution and works with Architecture, to develop/analyze/deliver the implementation of technical enablers
  • Leads the planning, definition, and design of the complex features which span multiple teams and explore solution alternatives
  • Creates ideas on designing complex technology and solution development approaches
  • Leads the technical oversight for teams in solution development including design reviews and code within own domain
  • Defines the technology tool stack for the solution within ranged of internally approved and supported technologies
  • Explores state-of-the-art technologies to improve development efficiencies, quality of test/QA coverage, and release management
  • Leads and is responsible for the end-to-end test strategy/creation/adherence, and the integration between teams for a program/portfolio solution
  • Lead the DNA ARC Cloud platform supporting critical regulatory reporting functions, including CAT.
  • Drive AWS cloud migration, modernization, and cloud native
    architecture initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership for architecture, engineering, and platform strategy.
  • Manage delivery execution, risks, dependencies, and program outcomes.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to meet regulatory and strategic objectives.
  • Implement cloud engineering best practices, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.


Required Qualifications
  • Lead large-scale cloud transformation and modernization initiatives from concept through production deployment.
  • Partner with senior business, technology, architecture, security, and infrastructure leaders to define strategy, priorities, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Drive end-to-end program execution, managing scope, risks, dependencies, budgets, and stakeholder communications.
  • Build and lead high-performing engineering and delivery teams across multiple technology domains.
  • Establish cloud architecture patterns, engineering standards, and operational best practices.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, resiliency, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive adoption of automation, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, observability, and cloud operating models.
  • Mentor engineering managers, architects, and senior engineers.
  • Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS preferred).
  • Cloud security, networking, and identity management concepts.
  • Deep expertise in AWS services and cloud-native architectures.

Pay range

$156,500.00 - $230,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
