Lead Enterprise AI Strategy as a Principal Data Scientist!

DeNOVO Solutions is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to define the AI/ML architecture and data science strategy across mission and enterprise programs. In this leadership role, you will oversee model governance, lifecycle management, and operational deployment while guiding research and development integration of advanced algorithms, federated learning, and data fusion analytics. Your technical expertise and strategic vision will drive AI adoption and innovation across critical national missions.

A Day in the Life
  • Lead AI/ML program development, validation, and deployment initiatives across mission and enterprise systems.
  • Establish enterprise ML pipelines supporting distributed compute and containerized workflows for operational scalability.
  • Develop model explainability and compliance frameworks to ensure trustworthy operational AI.
  • Oversee multi-domain data fusion analytics and promote cross-program algorithm reuse.
  • Mentor senior data scientists, fostering technical growth and alignment with organizational standards.
  • Define and enforce AI ethics and governance standards across mission programs.
  • Guide R&D integration of advanced algorithms, federated learning, and data fusion analytics for next-generation applications.

What You Bring to the Table
  • Expertise in TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLflow, AWS SageMaker, and Airflow for advanced model development and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, NiFi, and Kafka streaming for large-scale data ingestion and analytics.
  • Proficiency with containerized MLOps environments including Docker, Kubernetes, and Kubeflow.
  • Proven ability to develop model explainability and compliance frameworks for operational AI.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise ML pipeline implementation and cross-domain analytics initiatives.
  • Strong leadership in AI ethics, governance, and mentorship of data science teams.

What You Need

Experience: Fifteen (15) or more years of related professional experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Five years of defining and leading the enterprise-level AI/ML architecture and data science approach across programs.
  • Five years of establishing scalable ML pipelines supporting distributed compute and containerized workflows.
  • Four years mentoring data scientists and promoting AI ethics, governance, and model compliance.

Education: A PhD from an accredited college or university in a related engineering discipline (e.g., statistics, mathematics, operations research, cyber security, engineering or computer science) may be substituted for two additional years of experience.
  • In lieu of PhD, we are willing to substitute a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related engineering discipline when paired with 20 years of experience.

Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph

Salary Range: $230,000.00 - $255,000.00 (Commensurate with experience)

Pay Range: $230,000 - $255,000 per year
