As our Principal Advisor, Northeast Markets, you'll help shape the future of wholesale power markets while serving as a trusted advisor to public power utilities across the Northeast. This highly strategic role combines policy expertise, client advisory, business development, and industry leadership to help our clients successfully navigate an evolving energy landscape.

What You'll Do

Serve as a Trusted Market Advisor
  • Provide strategic policy analysis, advocacy, and advisory services to TEA and its clients regarding:
    • Energy, ancillary service, congestion, transmission, and capacity markets.
    • Existing and emerging market structures within NYISO, ISO New England, and PJM.
    • Carbon, environmental, and greenhouse gas market developments.
    • Regional resource adequacy programs and evolving market design.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and provide recommendations that help clients navigate market changes.
  • Educate clients on regional market developments and emerging industry trends.
  • Partner with TEA's Portfolio Management team to ensure client strategies evolve alongside changing market conditions.

Drive Business Growth
  • Partner with Account Directors and the Chief Client Officer to identify opportunities for new services and business expansion.
  • Provide subject matter expertise during client presentations, proposals, and business development initiatives.
  • Gather and share market intelligence that strengthens TEA's strategic positioning.
  • Support development of white papers, marketing materials, conference presentations, educational content, and industry thought leadership.

Lead Through Industry Influence
  • Represent TEA and its clients at regional stakeholder meetings and industry forums.
  • Prepare executive summaries and market updates following stakeholder meetings.
  • Collaborate with Trading, Analytics, and Portfolio Management teams to develop client-focused market strategies.
  • Contribute to TEA's strategic direction across Northeast wholesale energy markets.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Travel regularly to client locations, stakeholder meetings, and industry conferences.
  • Lead and manage strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects that support TEA's clients and organizational objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of TEA's mission.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in wholesale energy markets or a closely related industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in regional wholesale electricity markets, market design, and policy.
  • Strong understanding of energy, transmission, congestion, ancillary services, capacity, and environmental markets.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and communicate complex market concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working collaboratively across multiple business functions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Significant commercial experience in physical and financial commodity markets, including electricity, natural gas, and capacity.
  • Experience supporting the full business development lifecycle, from opportunity identification through successful client acquisition.
  • Established relationships within the Northeast regional transmission organizations and broader wholesale energy industry.
  • Experience representing organizations before stakeholder groups, regulatory bodies, or industry committees.
