Position Title: Pre-Litigation Employment AttorneyWe are seeking a driven and results-oriented Pre-Litigation Employment Attorney to lead and expand a growing employment law practice in Los Angeles. This role offers the opportunity to oversee the entire pre-litigation process, from client intake and case evaluation to demand letters, settlement negotiations, and case resolution. The attorney will manage an active caseload, drive settlements, and play a key role in scaling the department within an established plaintiff-side law firm.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in employment law, exceptional negotiation skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset. This individual thrives in a high-volume environment, makes confident case decisions, and is motivated to take ownership of a growing practice.
Salary Range: $145,000 - $200,000 / annually, DOE
Responsibilities - Oversee all aspects of employment pre-litigation matters, from initial intake through settlement
- Evaluate potential employment claims and determine case viability
- Draft persuasive demand letters and develop effective settlement strategies
- Negotiate directly with opposing counsel to secure favorable settlements
- Manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining efficiency and quality
- Drive case resolution and maximize settlement opportunities
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to streamline case management and improve outcomes
- Develop processes to support increasing case volume and departmental growth
- Take ownership of pre-litigation operations, performance, and settlement results
Requirements - Active California Bar license in good standing
- 2-3 years of employment law experience in pre-litigation or litigation
- Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to resolve disputes and secure settlements
- Experience evaluating employment claims and determining case viability
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and make timely, informed decisions
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Self-motivated, results-driven approach with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Ability to work onsite in Los Angeles at least four days per week
- Commitment to building and leading a successful pre-litigation practice
