Full Job Description
SUMMARY
The Practice Development Manager has responsibility for a range of strategic, operational, and commercial areas for the Practice Group.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the firm's LatAm practices, clients, market, and competitive position; provide critical and actionable analysis to support strategic decision-making and growth planning, including into industry dynamics and trends across the firm's global markets, clients, and competitors, and various economic, commercial, and business areas.
  • Proactively identify potential new business opportunities for the Group, based on daily market events and ongoing research.
  • Maintain and own the model for identifying public and private institutions with significant needs for support within the region, validating the model, systematically using the model to drive new opportunities.
  • Facilitate the generation of relationships, meetings, and events with potential client Chief Executive Officers, General Counsels, directors, senior bankers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate appropriate cross-selling opportunities.
  • Keep current on knowledge/thought creation priorities of competitors, banks, and top consulting firms, and convene partner discussion groups if there is a gap where the firm can lead or collaborate with a third party on a particular topic.
  • Work with each partner to measure the return on investment of their business development efforts, share broadly with the Group what strategies have generally yielded results.

In addition, responsibilities related to maintaining firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees. This includes complying with the firm's information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated success establishing and executing strategies for market and revenue growth, and adding value at the highest levels of institutional leadership.
  • Strong business acumen, research, financial, and analytical skills; the ability to develop short- and long-term strategic plans from broadly stated objectives.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills, the ability to lead through influence rather than direct control, and to create consensus-based support for business strategies and decisions.
  • Superior presentation, writing, and verbal communication skills; the ability to interact credibly and diplomatically with all levels in an organization and in the outside community - tailoring communications effectively for different groups and stakeholders.
  • Dynamic energy level, entrepreneurial spirit, and results-orientation; willingness to "roll up one's sleeves" when necessary and lead by example.

A strong background in business development and marketing technology, tools, and the application of innovative solutions to drive revenue, profitability, market share, and business growth.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years leading strategic and operational business development, marketing, and practice development capabilities and functions in major law firm, or other highly sophisticated professional services or financial services firm environments.

Compensation
The base salary range offered for this role will be between $145,000 and $190,000. When determining a candidate's compensation offer, elements unique to each person are taken into consideration including but not limited to skill set, experience level, performance, professional certifications, degrees and location, as well as the needs of the Firm.
