PowerShell Automation Engineer-Remote Ayush.dwivedi@stefanini.com W2 Candidates Only Qualifications: We're looking for a highly skilled PowerShell Scripter with deep expertise in Windows application packaging (MSI/MSIX) and a modern, AI accelerated engineering mindset. In this role, you'll build, maintain, and modernize our software deployment workflows 94 from packaging and customization to automated testing and release 94 while using agentic coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) to increase velocity and maintain high-quality engineering standards. This position is ideal for someone who treats AI tools as a force multiplier, not a shortcut 94 a contractor who can prompt, evaluate, and refine AI generated output and confidently take it across the finish line to production ready quality. Responsibilities: Software Packaging & Deployment 3 Build, customize, and maintain MSI/MSIX application packages using industry standard tooling (e.g., WiX, Advanced Installer, PSADT, or similar) 3 Develop robust PowerShell-based packaging and deployment scripts, including detection logic, custom actions, configuration, and uninstall routines 3 Package complex enterprise applications requiring transforms (MST), prerequisite handling, DLL registrations, digital signing, and environment specific configuration 3 Ensure packages meet security requirements, follow internal standards, and deploy reliably through Intune, Configuration Manager, or orchestration pipelines PowerShell Automation & AI-Augmented Development 3 Design, develop, and maintain PowerShell scripts and modules for system administration, packaging workflows, and broader IT automation 3 Use agentic coding assistants to scaffold scripts, generate tests, and modernize legacy code 94 while rigorously reviewing all AI-generated output 3 Integrate automation with platforms such as Active Directory, Microsoft Graph API, Azure, Intune, and ticketing/ITSM systems 3 Build reusable, well-documented modules following PowerShell best practices (approved verbs, error handling, comment-based help) 3 Write and maintain Pester tests to validate script and packaging reliability 3 Collaborate with IT, security, endpoint engineering, and helpdesk teams to streamline deployment processes and eliminate manual effort 3 Maintain version-control discipline using Git/GitHub with clear commit messages and structured PR reviews 3 Document packaging standards, automation workflows, and AI-assisted development processes Job Requirements Required Qualifications 3 3+ years of professional PowerShell scripting experience (5.1 and 7+) 3 Demonstrated experience using AI/agentic coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Amazon Q, Windsurf, etc.) in real development workflows 3 Strong hands-on experience building, modifying, and troubleshooting MSI/MSIX packages 3 Solid understanding of Windows systems administration, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 3 Experience with REST APIs and structured data formats (JSON, XML, CSV) 3 Strong knowledge of secure scripting practices, including credential management and secrets handling 3 Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows 3 Ability to evaluate, debug, and refine AI-generated code Preferred Qualifications: 3 Experience with Microsoft Graph API, Azure automation, and Az PowerShell modules 3 Experience with Intune, Autopilot, or enterprise endpoint management automation 3 Experience writing Pester unit/integration tests 3 Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) for packaging and script deployment 3 Scripting experience in Python or Bash as a complement to PowerShell 3 Experience building internal tools, dashboards, or reporting workflows 3 Prior experience defining or documenting AI assisted engineering practices #LI-AD2 #LI-REMOTE Stefanini takes pride in hiring top talent and developing relationships with our future employees.
