Position Description: CGI is seeking an enthusiastic and solutions driven developer to join a high performing Agile team supporting a major government program. This role blends modern application development with growing low code/no code platform expertise. The ideal candidate will have intermediate to advanced Power Platform skills, foundational to intermediate Java (or equivalent) development capabilities, and strong relational database expertise. The position includes responsibility for designing features, translating requirements into clear user stories, and collaborating with technical peers to deliver high quality solutions.
This position is located in our Lafayette, LA or Knoxville, TN office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Due to the nature of Government contracts, US citizenship is required
Your future duties and responsibilities: Power Platform Development (Primary Focus)
Build, enhance, and maintain applications using Power Apps, Power BI, and Dataverse.
Develop data models, visualizations, automated workflows, and integrated platform components to support enterprise government use cases.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable Power Platform solutions.
Application Development (Java or Equivalent)
Contribute to application features using Java or an equivalent backend language at a beginner to intermediate+ level.
Support full stack development activities and integrate Power Platform components with enterprise application services.
Review and write backend and API code following best practices and Agile patterns.
Relational Database & SQL
Design and optimize SQL queries and data structures to support application functionality.
Work with Dataverse, PostgreSQL, or other relational systems to ensure performant, well structured data access layers.
Additional Technical Responsibilities
Contribute to planning and architecture sessions; translate high level requirements into actionable features, acceptance criteria, and design artifacts.
Participate in daily Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and continuous improvement discussions.
Collaborate closely with engineers, product owners, and client stakeholders to provide technical insight and shape system design.
Troubleshoot issues and implement thoughtful, efficient, and maintainable solutions.
Author automated tests and support ongoing modernization and system architecture improvements.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Intermediate to advanced skills in Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Dataverse).
Beginner to intermediate+ Java (or similar language) development experience.
Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience) and at least 4 years of experience.
Experience with Agile development practices and modern development tooling (Git, Maven, CI/CD, etc.).
Ability to independently own development work for a major module or feature area.
Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills; able to work through ambiguous requirements and propose sound solutions.
Effective communication skills for working with technical peers, project partners, and end users.
Positive, proactive attitude aligned with CGI's collaborative delivery culture.
Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
AWS cloud experience (deployment, configuration, or development).
Angular or React experience; familiarity with modern UI frameworks translates effectively into Angular development on government projects.
Experience integrating platform solutions with backend services or microservices.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $63,700.00 $156,700.00.
