Full Job Description
Mission for this Position

Reporting to the Power and Distribution Department Manager, the Power and Distribution Superintendent is accountable for translating the long-term strategy into mid-term plans for the Department, providing Supervisors, Engineers, Automation Specialists and PI Specialists with guidance on how to safely and efficiently execute plans in order to achieve high level of availability for the assets. The Superintendent develops, monitors and reports on key performance indicators for the assets.

Main Accountabilities

1. Design and coordinate operation and maintenance of electrical utilities and associated power distribution equipment to guarantee high level of power availability to all sites, ensuring compliance with Government, State, and Local regulations and codes regarding electricity.
2. In consultation with peers, develop operations and projects
3. Provide leadership to the team by hiring, establishing objectives, providing work direction and performance feedback, and delivering disciplinary actions.
4. Provide support to the team with troubleshooting issues such as failures and problems with equipment by providing technical insights and resources (tools, methods, equipment) to restore equipment availability in a timely and safe fashion.
5. Manage the department's budget by forecasting operating costs providing input in to the budget planning.
6. Advise management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
7. Provide direction, and lead by example, the interpretation and application of Company policies and procedures to the power distribution activities.
8. Develop key performance indicators and monitor progress against operation and production schedules. Take corrective action to ensure timely completion of assignments by engineering personnel and high performance operation for the assets.

Main Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Certified Professional Engineer or CET
• Minimum five (5) years of experience as an Electrical supervisor / Superintendent
• Minimum ten (10) years of experience in the electrical trade

Mary River Mine Site, NU, Canada

Compensation

Compensation for this position is aligned with Baffinland's approved compensation framework and current market conditions. Final compensation will be determined based on:
• Relevant education and certifications
• Related training and experience
• Internal equity considerations

This site-based role is eligible for participation in the travel benefits, site premiums, comprehensive health and dental coverage, and pension participation.
