Our laboratory is dedicated to the discovery of novel regulators of anti-tumor immunity that offer high potential for therapeutic exploitation. Recently, we have focused on underexplored and druggable cytokine pathways that offer the potential to support tumor-specific T cell responses while avoiding undesirable toxic effects on the host. We utilize state-of-the-art in vitro and in vivo techniques, insights from human genetics, and deep profiling of human clinical data to validate and target these critical nodes of host protection.

The Opportunity:
  • To employ state-of-the-art technologies exploring fundamental cancer immunology.
  • To collaborate with other researchers across the organization to accelerate research progress and foster interdisciplinary knowledge.
  • To take advantage of Genentech's rich environment of core facilities, including animal modeling, protein chemistry, and computational biology.
  • To participate in the Genentech post-doctoral training program, which offers outstanding training and mentorship, opportunities to present work internally and externally, career development support, and exposure to an environment focused on drug development and breakthrough discoveries.

Who You Are:
  • Ph.D. in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, or a related field, with a proven track record of research accomplishments.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in the areas of immunology and T cell biology
  • Working experience with in vivo models.
  • Ability to formulate scientific questions and hypotheses.
  • Ability to design, perform, interpret, and effectively communicate experiments to test these hypotheses.
  • Ability to analyze higher dimensional data.
  • Must have advanced at least one key research project as evidenced by a first author paper published or accepted in a leading peer-reviewed journal.
  • Independent scientist with outstanding communication and collaboration skills, as well as a strong passion and commitment to science and cancer immunology.

Preferred Qualification:
