Monson Savings Bank is seeking a motivated Portfolio Manager to join our Commercial Lending team. In this role, you will work closely with commercial loan officers and business customers to manage established lending relationships, support new loan opportunities, and contribute to the continued growth of our commercial portfolio. This position combines customer interaction, credit analysis, and portfolio management, making it an ideal opportunity for a banking professional looking to expand their commercial lending career.

Some of the position responsibilities include:
  • Manage and support a portfolio of commercial banking relationships.
  • Analyze credit history of applicants and determine loan repayment capabilities.
  • Obtain customer financial reports and appraisals; document collateral values.
  • Facilitate the process of negotiating credit terms, loan repayment methods, and collateral specifications.
  • Partner with lenders to facilitate loan closings, renewals, modifications, and portfolio reviews.
  • Assist lenders with customer-call research and preparation, loan participations, and the management of past-due and maturing loans.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure exceptional service and efficient loan administration.
  • Represent Monson Savings Bank in the community through business and networking events.
  • Contribute ideas that improve processes, enhance service, and support departmental goals.

This exempt, full-time position is based at the Loan & Operations Center, located at 75 Post Office Park in Wilbraham, Massachusetts, with the potential for a future hybrid or remote work arrangement.

Salary range: $85,000-$110,000

We're looking for a business professional with:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in commercial credit or commercial lending.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending practices, credit analysis, and financial statement review.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Demonstrated technical report writing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A collaborative approach to working with colleagues, customers, and business partners.
