Leidos' Defense Systems is seeking a talented Portfolio Manager to join in on the cutting-edge working happening in our Indirect Fire Protection Capability/Force Protection Business Area. Leidos Defense Systems Sector provides a diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-on-one and group meetings with the program teams to check status, provide guidance, and work through any issues to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Interface with customers to develop relationships, ensure the highest quality of service, and drive future business opportunities.
  • Provide business expertise to proposals, ensuring that submissions align with mission, financial, and Division strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional partners (engineering, finance, contracts, growth, supply chain) to ensure alignment and timely execution of program goals.
  • Provide solutions to any identified deficiencies within the planning and execution of the portfolio.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance team efficiency, quality, and overall program execution.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in engineering, business, or an equivalent degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years or prior relevant experience. Generally has 7+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
  • Experience building strategic relationships with internal and external customers while collaborating with company / industry leaders to gather cutting edge solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading development or production teams to develop hardware / software solutions.
  • Twelve or more years of experience in leading cross disciplinary teams of engineers, technicians, and customers to deliver hardware / software solutions.
  • Must have strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security clearance. (U.S. citizenship is required)
  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly organized and responsive, demonstrating the ability to work both independently and collaboratively due to a fast-paced and highly productive work environment.
  • A background in electrical engineering to provide additional insight with respect to technical challenges.
  • Active and current DoD Secret clearance.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
