Job Description:

The Portfolio Management - Valuations & Analytics team is looking for an Associate to support stakeholders in the Blackstone Strategic Partners (7BSP8) and Blackstone Credit & Insurance (7BXCI8) groups. The core focus of the group is to prepare, evaluate, analyze, and summarize portfolio investment valuation results for BSP secondary funds and BXCI6s insurance deals.

  • Review partners6 capital (7PCAP8) statements, aggregate results, analyze trends, and present performance of secondary funds
  • Prepare presentations, memos, and ad hoc analyses forsenior leaders
  • Apply valuation methodologies in line with Blackstone6s valuation policy as well as requisite external guidance
  • Attend valuation committee meetings and other meetings with senior stakeholders and present to leaders in Finance, BSP, and BXCI
  • Become a subject matter expert in secondary and insurance fund models, performance metrics, and valuations
  • Drive the onboarding process for technology and offshore team members and ensure proper data collection procedures are in place
  • Coordinate valuation reviews with third-party valuation firms and respond to third-party firm inquiries
  • Assist in the presentation of valuation results to various internal committees, external auditors, and limited partners
  • Work closely with BSP6s and BXCI6s respective finance teams to provide inputs as well as other portfolio investment information to aid in the completion of business forecasts and other planning deliverables
  • Maintain relationships with core constituencies including Asset Management, deal professionals, Investor Relations, Operations, Accounting, and Finance teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor6s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or similar discipline (CFA and/or CPA a plus)
  • 3+ years of private valuation experience in transaction services, a private equity fund, hedge fund or third-party valuation services provider or a comparable role
  • Capability to work in a dynamic environment that requires execution of recurring deliverables as well as projects and initiatives in support of a growing business
  • Understanding of ASC 820 and corresponding valuation guidance. In-depth understanding of the discounted cash flow model and market multiples
  • Strong interpersonal skills, high EQ, and proven capability to handle interactions with deal professionals, Asset Management, and portfolio company representatives
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Confidence presenting to large groups of individuals
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint is required
  • Proficiency in iLevel, 73 Strings, or a similar platform is a plus

Expected annual base salary range:

$110,000 - $150,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual6s experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the roleconsist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses.
