Salary: $83,480.47 - $97,630.80Shift Schedule: 12 hour patrol shifts, with every other weekend offSworn: 30Population: $13,500Job SummaryPolice Officers adhere to the Mission & Value Statements, conduct preventive patrol and general policing functions to protect the health, safety and welfare of lives and property within the Village. Officers provide initial response to emergency & non-emergency service requests, traffic enforcement, makes arrests when necessary, investigate complaints, document investigation findings, enforce laws and ordinances, complete reports, community relations and provide a wide range of public service activities. Police Officers are assigned to a specific shift and report directly to their assigned Sergeant. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications- Has two years of experience as a full-time sworn law enforcement officer within the three years preceding the date of application - State of Illinois certification from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (part-time certification as a law enforcement officer does not meet this requirement).
- Must be at least 23 years old.
- Must be a United States citizen.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- No felony convictions.
- No residency requirement.
