Plumbing EngineerJob Summary:The Plumbing Engineer will provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of plumbing systems. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects in a variety of market sectors, such as healthcare, Federal, industrial, municipal, and commercial projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Design plumbing systems; familiarity with medical/laboratory piping and gases is a plus.
- Design performance specification for fire protection systems.
- Develop systems design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings.
- Prepare detailed design documents.
- Write/edit project specifications.
- Be responsible for code compliance research.
- Coordinate work with other disciplines.
- Work on site surveys to determine and document existing conditions.
- Provide support for construction administration services.
Qualifications and Experience:- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Active Professional Engineering license in the state of North Carolina, or the ability to be licensed in North Carolina within 6 months of start date.
- A minimum of 5 years design experience.
- LEED certification/experience is a plus, CPD is preferred.
- Experience with laboratories/medical facilities design is preferred, ASSE 6060 certification is a plus.
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
- Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines.
- Excellent work ethic and attitude.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work.
- Must be a US Citizen.
