Platform & Sustainability Expert - US

Sweep is hiring a Platform & Sustainability Expert to help customers implement our platform, track their carbon and ESG metrics, and drive impactful sustainability initiatives.

As a Platform & Sustainability Expert (P&SE) within the Delivery Team, you will help customers turn their sustainability goals into practical outcomes through the implementation and adoption of Sweep.

You will lead customer onboarding and implementation projects, translating customer requirements into effective platform configurations, data models, workflows, reporting logic, and integrations. You are comfortable working close to the technical layer of a product - reading data structures, troubleshooting configurations, and helping customers understand how the platform works under the hood. You will work with customers, consulting and reseller partners, Customer Success, Growth, Product, Engineering, and the wider Sweep ecosystem.

You will manage stakeholders and delivery challenges with limited guidance, support complex implementations when needed, and contribute reusable delivery practices across the team. The role is based in Denver.

Ok, sounds promising. What will I be doing?

As a Platform & Sustainability Expert, your responsibilities will span across these key areas:

1. Customer & Partner Implementation

• Own or support customer onboarding and implementation projects from planning through handover.
• Configure Sweep for sustainability, carbon accounting, reporting, data management, surveys, workflows, and historical data.
• Translate customer needs into practical platform solutions and operating processes.
• Lead customer meetings, workshops, and implementation discussions.
• Coordinate customers, partners, and internal teams while managing scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, and decisions.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot configuration issues, data quality problems, and workflow errors directly in the platform.
• Work with data: understand customer data structures, map source data to Sweep's data model, and guide customers through data ingestion, transformation, and validation.
• Identify where platform limitations require workarounds or escalation to Engineering, and communicate these clearly.
• Support consulting and reseller partners in using Sweep effectively.
• Ensure clear handovers to Customer Success, including objectives, configuration, decisions, risks, open items, and next steps.
• Share delivery patterns, lessons learned, and reusable approaches across the Delivery team.

2. Platform Expertise & Enablement 📚

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of Sweep's platform and how its modules support customer use cases.
• Deliver tailored training, demonstrations, presentations, and enablement sessions
• Guide customers and partners on implementation, reporting, data management, governance, and adoption.
• Develop familiarity with Sweep's API, data connectors, and integration patterns to support customers with more complex technical setups.
• Help customers become confident and autonomous users.
• Turn recurring questions and delivery challenges into practical guidance, templates, playbooks, and other enablement materials.
• Use Sweep's AI features responsibly, explaining their benefits and limitations and reinforcing human review, data-quality checks, and professional judgment.
• Support colleagues with platform questions and escalate specialist topics when appropriate.

3. Project Coordination & Stakeholder Management 🤝

• Manage multiple customer and partner engagements, prioritising according to customer needs, commitments, and business goals.
• Own project plans, timelines, actions, dependencies, documentation, and delivery systems.
• Communicate clearly and proactively about progress, responsibilities, risks, decisions, and next steps.
• Identify conflicts or delivery risks early, recommend solutions, and escalate when needed.
• Maintain accurate information, strong follow-through, and consistent delivery standards.

4. Sustainability Advisory & Product Feedback 🌱

• Apply advanced knowledge of carbon accounting and sustainability topics to customer engagements.
• Connect Sweep to customers' reporting requirements, sustainability objectives, and carbon accounting goals.
• Explain relevant assumptions, limitations, methodologies, regulations, and disclosure requirements clearly.
• Identify methodology, compliance, data-quality, and scoping issues early.
• Explain the opportunities and limitations of AI in sustainability data management, carbon accounting, and disclosure.
• Gather customer and partner feedback and turn it into actionable insights for Product and Engineering.
• Share sustainability knowledge and identify opportunities to improve delivery, guidance, and the product.

5. Customer Success ♥

• Build trusted relationships with customers and partners through clear, responsive communication.
• Understand customer objectives, expectations, success measures, and operating context.
• Manage expectations around scope, timelines, responsibilities, dependencies, and decisions.
• Navigate difficult conversations constructively.
• Identify adoption, satisfaction, and delivery risks early.
• Keep implementation focused on time-to-value and meaningful customer outcomes.
• Help customers become autonomous users and share relevant insights with Customer Success, Growth, Product, and other internal teams.

At Sweep, artificial intelligence is part of how we work, learn, and build. Every team member uses AI tools daily to speed up operations, improve decision making, and unlock creativity. We don't expect you to be an expert on day one, but we do expect curiosity, a willingness to experiment, and the desire to use AI as a true partner in your work.

Whether it's analyzing information, drafting content, improving workflows, designing better employee experiences, or supporting distributed teams, you'll use AI to work faster and smarter. We provide guidance, tools, and best practices so you can get the most out of it.

We're looking for candidates who already have hands-on experience with AI tools in a professional setting. You should be comfortable using AI to support your daily work, enhance productivity, and create new solutions. If you naturally reach for AI to amplify what you do, you'll feel right at home here.
That sounds just right for me. What do I need to bring?

Glad you asked. This is who we're looking for:

Qualifications 🏆

• Experience in customer delivery, consulting, project management, sustainability, carbon accounting, SaaS implementation, or a related field.
• Experience owning customer-facing projects, workstreams, or relationships independently.
• Strong knowledge of carbon accounting, sustainability reporting, climate frameworks, and practical sustainability challenges.
• Experience applying sustainability knowledge in customer, business, or operational contexts.
• Hands-on experience working with SaaS platforms at a configuration or implementation depth - not just as an end user, but understanding how data flows, how modules connect, and how to troubleshoot.
• Familiarity with structured data, spreadsheets, or basic data manipulation (SQL, Excel/Sheets at an advanced level, or similar) is a strong plus.
• Exposure to APIs, integrations, or technical implementations in a customer-facing context is a plus.
• Curiosity about how software products work and a desire to develop deeper technical skills over time.
• Experience facilitating workshops, delivering training, presenting, and recommending practical solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working across functions or with external partners.
• Professional fluency in English, including customer meetings, workshops, training, written communication, and difficult conversations.
• Professional fluency in Spanish is a plus.
• A relevant degree is a plus, but equivalent practical experience is equally valued.

Qualities 🧠

• You take ownership, raise risks early, and bring practical solutions.
• You are structured, reliable, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to manage difficult conversations constructively.
• You build trust through sound judgment and follow-through, enjoy sharing knowledge, and are open to feedback.
• You are naturally curious about how things work - not just what a platform does, but why, and how you'd fix it when it doesn't.
• You enjoy learning new technical concepts and applying them practically in a customer context.
• You are motivated by sustainability, understand the link between delivery quality, time-to-value, customer health, renewals, and expansion, and use AI-assisted tools with appropriate judgment and human oversight.
• You act in line with Sweep's values and contribute positively to the Delivery team.

You will own customer relationships and implementation work from planning through handover and adoption, with autonomy to manage delivery and adapt to customer needs. You will work across platform capabilities, sustainability requirements, customer processes, and stakeholder priorities, with support from experienced colleagues when needed.

You will also help improve delivery practices, enablement materials, processes, and knowledge sharing across the Delivery team, collaborating with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Growth, and external partners.

The role offers a path toward becoming a Senior Platform & Sustainability Expert, with opportunities to lead strategic engagements, coach colleagues, influence delivery standards, and contribute to broader customer and business outcomes. Or, for the right candidate, toward a Customer Engineering function - working at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer delivery on more complex technical implementations, integrations, and platform challenges.

Copy that. And what's in it for me?
