Job Description: Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Platform Database Engineer to support and optimize enterprise database environments within a global organization. This role focuses on database performance, security, automation, and reliability while collaborating with cross-functional technical teams. The ideal candidate brings deep database administration expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Duties & Responsibilities- Install, configure, monitor, and maintain database environments to ensure security, availability, and performance
- Develop and maintain automation and data processes using SQL, PowerShell, and data integration tools
- Implement data access controls and monitoring solutions
- Respond to and resolve database alerts, incidents, and service requests
- Perform real-time troubleshooting and end-to-end problem resolution
- Manage schema changes and scripts through version control systems
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, developers, and testers across distributed teams
- Provide guidance on best practices, performance tuning, and database design improvements
- Maintain documentation, standards, and operational procedures
- Own deliverables and ensure timely, accurate completion of assigned work
- Support scheduled maintenance, deployments, and rotational off-hours coverage
- Identify process improvements and recommend updated standards
Qualifications, Skills & Experience- 8+ years of database administration experience supporting enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in database backup, recovery, patching, security, and disaster recovery
- Advanced proficiency in SQL development and performance tuning
- Deep understanding of database architecture, indexing, optimization, and execution planning
- Experience supporting transactional and analytical database systems
- Hands-on experience with cloud database platforms and multiple database technologies
- Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills
- Experience collaborating with data warehouse and analytics teams preferred
