Plant Manager – Acuña, Mexico

Custom Cable & Electro-Mechanical Assembly | Maquiladora Operations

RESCO Electronics is searching for a Plant Manager in Del Rio, Texas, to perform daily work across the border in the Acuna, Mexico manufacturing facility

Position Summary

The Acuña Plant Manager is responsible for leading all production-related operations, including engineering, production planning, materials, warehouse, and direct labor. This role ensures the on-time delivery of high-quality, defect-free products while maintaining accountability for safety, quality, cost, and employee performance. The Plant Manager provides strategic and hands-on leadership in a bi-cultural maquiladora environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all production and production support activities.
  • Build, develop, and maintain qualified supervisory and support staff.
  • Ensure adequate staffing of trained direct labor to meet production demand.
  • Direct engineering and planning teams to provide clear work instructions, technical support, and accurate production schedules.
  • Ensure warehouse operations effectively manage materials and support production.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
  • Oversee proper use and maintenance of production equipment.
  • Partner with Sales, Estimating, Procurement, Engineering, Quality and other functions.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the senior site representative for customers, audits, and performance reviews.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Production Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in a maquiladora operation or similar manufacturing operation, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of cable and electro-mechanical assembly manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, labor-intensive manufacturing operations with full accountability.
  • Experience using and supporting ERP systems in a manufacturing setting.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency required.
  • Bi-cultural leadership capability to bridge U.S. business expectations and Mexican manufacturing culture.
  • Authorized to work in Mexico and able to travel freely within the United States.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and continuous improvement skills.
