Join Our Team as a Plant Manager!Work Location: Dover, DE (on-site)
Department: Manufacturing
Reports To: VP, Operations
FLSA Status: Exempt
Travel Requirements: 10 - 15%
Who We Are Looking ForWe're looking for a hands-on manufacturing leader to run our Dover, DE plant and own everything from safety and quality to cost and team development. You have 5+ years managing operations in a process or batch manufacturing environment (construction materials, engineered mortars, or food are a plus), along with solid maintenance management experience. You're fluent in Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S, and you use them to cut waste and improve throughput. You're comfortable leading a small, close-knit team of about 15, managing budgets and capital projects, and working across Planning, Procurement, Quality, and Finance. A degree in engineering, business, or a related field, a Green Belt, and project management experience are all pluses. Most of all, you lead by example on safety, communicate clearly, and stay calm when things change.
Why You Should ApplyThis is a true general-manager role: you'll run your own site with real ownership over operations, budget, and people, reporting directly to the VP of Operations. With a team of about 15, you'll see the impact of your decisions every day and have the chance to build a strong culture around safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. You'll shape the plant's capital projects, sourcing, and long-range planning, and you'll work closely with leadership at Uzin Utz North America. If you want a role where you can lead from the floor and make a visible difference, this is it.
What You Need to Be SuccessfulTo thrive in this role, you'll need a strong safety mindset and the discipline to hold yourself and your team to it every day. You should be a sharp problem solver who can gather the facts, weigh alternatives, and make timely decisions when production, maintenance, or supply issues come up, all while staying composed under pressure. Clear, plain-language communication is essential, whether you're coaching an operator, aligning with Planning and Procurement, or presenting plant performance to the VP of Operations. You'll also need to be comfortable with numbers and budgets, driving cost savings and tracking KPIs, and proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, with SAP PP and MRP experience as a bonus. Finally, you'll need to be adaptable and people-focused: someone who can manage change, develop talent, and stay hands-on in a plant environment that requires PPE, regular lifting, and time on your feet.
