We're looking for our next Plant Controller in Tonawanda!
What You'll DoThe Plant Controller will oversee and administer Tonawanda's accounting system to ensure all financial reporting, policies, and procedures are in compliance with GAAP and applicable laws. This role serves as a key member of the Tonawanda leadership team and requires a strong on-site presence to effectively support operations and fulfill position responsibilities. This person will report directly to the Corporate Controller with a dotted line to the Plant Manager.
- Prepare and oversee monthly close process for plant, ensuring completeness and accuracy of report packages
- Analyze product costs and compile product cost statements for management review on a monthly basis
- Reconcile intercompany accounts on a monthly basis
- Proactively meet with plant management regularly to discuss costs comparisons to budget and perform cost analyses to drive cost management and savings
- Coordinate annual physical inventories and update system to actual based on count results and report variances to local and corporate management
- Establish and update standard inventory values on an annual basis or as needed
- Prepare necessary regulatory filings including periodic sales & use tax filings, annual FORM 1099's, and any other non-payroll required filings
- Assist in ERP (IFS) Implementation for Finance and Operations teams
What You'll NeedTo be successful in this position, you must:
- Possess a bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance and have 3 or more years of management
- Have strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
- Be knowledgeable in the principles and practices of purchasing, including competitive bidding practices
- Have high standards of ethics and integrity and be able to represent the company in a professional and effective manner to various associations, customers, vendors, and the public
- Have the ability to manage and compile large amounts of data into meaningful analysis
- Be self-motivated and have the proven ability to work in, and contribute to, a team environment to drive operations and process improvements
