Plant Controller - Make an impact where it counts!

 

Real Alloy in Mississauga, Ontario, has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Controller to join a strong and successful team. The Plant Controller will serve as a key business partner to operations, driving performance, improving processes, and helping shape the future of our facility. This is more than a traditional accounting role. It's an opportunity to influence decision making, lead financial strategy at the plant level, and play a critical role in operational success. THIS ROLE SITS INSIDE OF A MANUFACTURING FACILITY.

 

What you will do

  • Responsible for the preparation and direction of the ongoing activities associated with daily accounting procedures, the monthly close process, and the annual close within our Oracle accounting software. The site is a CAD functional site but reports in both CAD and USD.
  • Prepare annual and monthly budgets/forecasts and related financial analyses of various accounting deliverables.
  • Interact with plant management, BU management, and corporate staff on financial, accounting, and administrative matters. Respond to data/financial requests as needed.
  • Provide technical direction for the accounts payable and receivable functions including customer invoicing, cash application, P.O. and vendor invoice processing, receipt of goods and related activities. Review account coding and assist in new vendor adds.
  • Responsible for all local cash management.
  • Reconcile material flow from receipts, through the production process to finished goods and then to the customers.
  • In adherence with company policy co-lead quarterly physical inventory and oversee quarterly spare parts and asset inventories.
  • Prepare monthly and annual taxes, including monthly GST/HST tax.
  • Assist in the preparation of all financial details capital improvement projects and submit for approval. Role is also responsible to audit, track, and report the project spend and KPI’s.
Qualifications

 

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in a similar finance or controller role. An advanced degree is a plus, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and other MS Office software. Experience in Oracle a plus.
  • Proven ability to function with minimal supervision while also leading others toward plant and company goals. Results and detail oriented.
  • Creativity and openness for implementation of new procedures or programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Willingness to be part of a team mentality and approach for the North American Business Unit.
  • Ability to plan and organize effectively and efficiently to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Some occasional travel may be required., including travedl to US headquarters. (5%)

 

Compensation: $100,000.00 - $135,000.00
