Full Job Description
The Plant Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the location, managing the Finance
function and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas of the business by partnering with
managers to provide key financial data, analysis and insights and ensures alignment with Enterprise strategic
objectives.
Required Job Duties
Key Finance responsibilities
• Leads financial staff and is accountable for general accounting, AR, AP, billing, cost accounting, inventory accuracy and risk management.
• Directs the preparation and quality control of all financial reports, including reports to corporate headquarters, reports to bank, reports for external accounting firm, and reports for government
regulatory agencies.
• Meets regularly with department heads to keep them informed and to offer insight and direction.
• Participates in Monthly MBR and weekly flash meeting with Enterprise leadership.
• Provides internal controls and ensures work instructions are aligned with Internal controls.
• Completes annual financial planning and forecasting for Plant for review and approval.
• Analyzes actual vs planned results to identify opportunities and areas which need focus.
• Ensures payroll is completed timely and accurately.
• Provides support for income tax and R&D filing requirements as needed.
• Ensures compliance with appropriate tax authorities and completes filing as appropriate.
• Consolidates financials for all AWT's assigned divisions.
Key IT responsibilities
• Provides onsite assistance as needed to support ERP upgrades and Power BI implementation.
• Works with other departments to ensure ERP information system integrity such that reports available are accurate and timely.
Key Tax and Audit responsibilities
• Works with the Corporate Controller to facilitate annual tax and audit requirements.
• Works with the Corporate Controller to streamline and communize documentation provided to audit staff.
Other key responsibilities
• Develops and maintains an efficient and effective finance team.
• Works with the Corporate Controller to maintain solid relationships with external accountants, insurance brokers, bank, staffing agencies, payroll companies, etc.
• Participates and leads projects as necessary to support local and global AWT financial objectives.
Requirements
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
• Knowledge of Payroll systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, project management and organizational skills.
• Strong business acumen.
• Sound understanding of risk management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate positively with multiple departments spanning multiple disciplines.
• Strong work ethic skills.
• Safety-first attitude.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or finance.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management in a manufacturing environment.
• Industrial job costing experience.
