Full Job Description
Public Agency Resources (PARS), a subsidiary of Willdan Group Inc., has an opening for a Full-Time Plans Examiner in the Los Angeles, CA area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Examines plans and specifications for buildings for completeness and conformity with all code requirements of the following design elements: Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire/Life safety, Energy conservation regulations, Green Building Standards, Accessibility and Egress.
  • Coordinates the review of plans with other public agencies whose approval is necessary; itemizes the required corrections and modifications and explains them to permit applicants.
  • When requested, authorizes the issue of building permits for plans that meet code and ordinance requirements; calculates fees.
  • Advises and assists architects, contractors, builders, and the general public with interpretation and application of pertinent building regulations, state laws, and local ordinances.
  • Submits reports to jurisdictional Building Officials regarding workload and process statistics, new products or situations. and code interpretations issues.
  • Provides assistance to the public jurisdictional building counters when requested, answering questions related to plans and permitting requirements.
