Job Description:

ROLE SUMMARY:

This functional manager role is responsible for leading the day-to-day Planning function of the Springville site, in support of the site's Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and all associated performance objectives. This role leads material flow processes and is responsible for master scheduling, parts planning, production planning and production control. Leadership of the teams will ensure compliance to all applicable customer & engineering requirements and standards, maintaining a safe work environment, employee development and engagement, and adherence to the project execution plan supporting on-time delivery to customers. This leadership role must demonstrate and coach enterprise leadership mindset behaviors, facilitating a process transformation and cultural transformation across the Springville site. Travel is expected to be less than 20%.

PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES:
  • Provide leadership as well as strategic and tactical direction to the Planning, team in support of the Springville business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain an effective team communication and performance management process to ensure daily visibility to team performance, confirmation of standard work processes, proactive and robust problem solving of deviations, and on-going coaching and continuous improvement..
  • Directs production planning, materials, capacity, and scheduling requirements. Use of sales forecast to drive right sized inventory levels through forecasting and use of SIOP.
  • Develops Plan for Every Part (PFEP) for the facility to minimize inventory and maintain material flow throughout the facility. Including, but not limited to, transaction history management, reorder and safety stock strategies.
  • Develop projects to improve overall inventory levels, OTD, and past due metrics.
  • Strategically engage with sales and commercial operations to maintain market lead times, by forecasting inventory and managing capacity
  • Creates production schedules and prioritizes for production optimization of both capacity, productivity, OTD, and CORE customer expectations
  • Maintenance of planning BOMs in ERP system
  • Data analytics and decision making to support planning and operations teams in KPIs
  • Monitor and manage obsolete and excess inventories
  • Ensure cross-functional collaboration within the materials teams as well as throughout the facility

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, operations, or business-related field. For internal FLS candidates, ten years of planning leadership experience in an engineered manufacturing business may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong root cause problem solving and analytical skills according the DMAIC framework or similar, with demonstrated ability to make critical decisions and sustainable improvements.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Business systems experience such as MRP and ERP
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and public speaking)

  • Previous experience in engineered to order (ETO) industry
