Lead materials management, inventory control, production planning, and scheduling across multiple manufacturing plants, ensuring material availability supports production requirements while achieving customer delivery, inventory optimization, and operational excellence goals. Develop and execute inventory strategies that balance working capital objectives with production continuity, maintain accurate perpetual inventory and standard costing, and reduce excess, obsolete, and inaccurate inventory. Partner with Plant Material Managers, Procurement, Operations, and suppliers to improve forecasting, supplier performance, material flow, and ERP/MRP planning effectiveness. Own enterprise-wide production planning, scheduling, and S&OE processes, translating demand into executable, level-loaded production plans aligned with capacity and customer commitments. Establish and drive accountability for key inventory and materials metrics, including inventory turns, days on hand, cycle count accuracy, standard cost variance, supplier performance, and schedule attainment. Lead the end-to-end Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory process, including identification, root cause analysis, disposition planning, corrective actions, and financial reporting, while leveraging data-driven dashboards and cross-functional collaboration to improve inventory accuracy, working capital performance, and overall supply chain effectiveness.
What you'll do:- Work with Plant Material Managers to evaluate and set safety stock levels, planning policies, lead-times, ordering cadences, maple ticket corrections, inventory adjustments and DOA process, cycle counts, and scrap standards. Establish policy and procedure consistency between all locations.
- Develop proper inventory targets through the establishment of purchase plans based on past usage and projections by part by plant to support production plans.
- Develop and provide forecast plans for suppliers.
- Own the master production scheduling process at the plant level, establishing and enforcing level loading disciplines that balance manufacturing capacity against demand variability.
- Develop and maintain a rolling production schedule that accounts for customer orders, forecast demand, available capacity, and material availability across all plant locations. Ensure production schedules are published on a defined cadence, communicated clearly to plant operations teams, and adhered to with measurable schedule attainment metrics.
- Drive line-of-balance visibility across plants to proactively flag at-risk orders and prevent customer delivery failures.
- Work with plant material managers to develop individual plans for parts planning, plant schedulers, and inventory controls personnel. Identifying development needs, providing guidance, and leading technical training in areas such as part master maintenance, trouble shooting, parts planning, production scheduling, cycle counting, excess and obsolete inventories, intercompany transfers, kanban policies and forecasting.
- SO&E, PI accuracy by location, supplier on-time deliveries, schedule attainment, CC adherence, and COGS adjustments
