Full Job Description
Purpose of the Role

You will be responsible for directing a large group of foremen and craft personnel within the piping discipline, ensuring your workforce has the leadership, resources, and direction needed to deliver work safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

You will plan and sequence piping activities, allocate manpower strategically, and maintain the rhythm of construction so crews remain aligned, supported, and productive. This role plays a critical part in driving safe execution, maintaining schedule integrity, and ensuring piping systems are installed, tested, and turned over in accordance with project specifications.
Core Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on leadership to piping foremen and craft crews, supporting the day-to-day execution of piping installation, fabrication, testing, and turnover activities.
  • Develop and maintain detailed workface planning and short-term schedules that align with overall project milestones and system completion priorities.
  • Coordinate piping activities with other disciplines (structural, civil, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical) to ensure proper sequencing and eliminate workface constraints.
  • Supervise field operations to ensure compliance with HSE requirements, quality standards, and productivity targets.
  • Oversee hydrotesting, flushing, reinstatement, and system walkdowns to ensure piping systems meet design and code requirements.
  • Guide apprentice development and promote continuous skill advancement within the piping craft workforce.
  • Monitor manpower levels, crew productivity, weld performance, and overall workforce balance to maintain smooth progression of work.
  • Support cost control efforts by tracking labor hours, material usage, equipment needs, and forecasting upcoming resource requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company labor relations policies and promote a respectful, accountable work environment.
  • Communicate effectively across teams-providing direction, resolving field conflicts, and influencing outcomes to keep piping work on track.
  • Troubleshoot field installation challenges, isometric discrepancies, material shortages, and constructability issues, driving practical and timely solutions.
  • Exercise strong work direction by offering instruction, coaching, and verification of completed work to maintain high standards of safety and quality.
  • Collaborate closely with construction management, engineering, quality, and planning teams to align piping execution with project objectives and system turnover strategy.
