Excellent Opportunity for a Pediatrician interested in joining our dynamic team!

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide comprehensive pediatric primary care services for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents.
  • Perform preventive care visits, well-child examinations, developmental screenings, and immunizations.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric illnesses and conditions.
  • Provide patient and family education related to health promotion, disease prevention, nutrition, safety, and development.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Coordinate care with specialists, hospitals, schools, and community agencies as appropriate.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and population health programs.
  • Conduct nursery rounding born rounds and evaluations in the nursery.
  • Perform newborn admissions, assessments, discharge planning, and parent/guardian education.
  • Identify and manage routine neonatal conditions and coordinate specialty care when needed.
  • Collaborate with obstetric, nursing, and hospital teams to ensure safe and effective newborn care.
  • Participate in newborn nursery call coverage as assigned.
  • Serve as a faculty educator and mentor for Family Medicine residents.
  • Provide direct supervision of residents during pediatric continuity clinics and newborn nursery rotations.
  • Deliver formal and informal educational sessions, lectures, case discussions, and clinical teaching.
  • Evaluate resident performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Participate in curriculum development, scholarly activities, and residency program initiatives.
  • Support residency accreditation requirements and educational quality standards.
  • Promote evidence-based medicine, professionalism, and lifelong learning principles.
  • Participate in departmental, medical staff, and residency program meetings as requested.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, medical staff, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and ongoing medical education.
  • Contribute to quality, patient safety, patient experience, and access initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative and respectful environment among physicians, advanced practice providers, residents, nurses, and staff.

Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities]

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program.
  • Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.


Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • Two (2) to Four (4) years' experience in Pediatrics


License, Certification & Clearances

  • Current medical license in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Certification by the American Board of Pediatrics, or board eligible.
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Current DEA Registration
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation certification


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
  • Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
